afaik the only place i've seen May 2nd was vr-zone, and we know how they're a shining beacon for reliabile news when it comes to ATi related matters..:disgust:

everything else still points to May 14th, to my knowledge..

Humm.. The 8800 Ultra reviews are all over the place already... Why would they lie about AMD moving the launch to 2nd may and not lie about Nvidia moving it to 1st may? I say wait a few more hours:D

Its pretty obvious that there is not gonna be any r600 reviews today and we have again been duped! I am probably gonna buy an 8800gtx now tired of waiting on r600.

A SLEW OF Radeon HD links for you this morning, as launch day draws ever nearer. Allegedly.

First off, you can see how the card measures up, literally, to the GeForce 8800 series right here. The 2900 XTX is a lot longer than the XT, which is slightly longer than the 8800 GTS and shorter than the 8800 GTX and Ultra. If you ever wanted to see how these cards stack up, now's your chance.

Meanwhile, techies amongst you will enjoy presentation slides which were presumably nicked from Tunisia. PCInLife posted them up, and you can now get the full details on the new ring bus memory controller and unified architecture.

There's also a rather boring box shot, from HIS, here.

Meanwhile, if you like to lick the other side of the stamp, so to speak, there's a full performance benchmark of the GeForce 8800 Ultra over here, along with some pretty pictures of the card dissected.

The moral of the story for today? NDA, SchmenDA

i think the reviewers get them today ... the NDA *appears* to [still] be May 14th :p

expect the picture to be come clearer and clearer

They've been keeping bechmarks concealed, if they are top notch parts I think they'd be doing the opposite and leak a ton of benchmarks by now.

Sure, how much of the delays are more simple than all this - do they have the money to launch new product lines, what part is AMD woes playing in all this delay or lack of product too???

Want to see them stay around and be able to stand up to Nvidia, many many people better buy the doomed r600 line if for nothing else to help AMTI stay around and active enough to matter...

Oh for goodness sakes, you duped yourself. If it wasn't publicly stated by AMD (or whoever the product belongs to) then its a rumor, and shouldn't be treated as gospel.

How exactly can you dupe yourself? Certainly if it wasn't true someone would have said so but since there was no statement to the contrary me along with many others believed it was true. Non the less VR-Zone lied and it was not true those duping many.

Many people on these forums, including myself, said not to believe it. So yes, people did say it wasnt true, or at least be cautious without any facts to back it up. You only have yourself to blame. Stop thinking everything you read on the internet is true.

VR-Zone duped us.

You blame the liar for lying, not the person who was gullable enough to believe it.

Maybe AMD leaked the fake launch date on purpose so Nvidia tries to steal the thunder with its 8800u, as usual, only to end up two weeks early :D

Anyway, VR-zone is no better than the stInq when it comes to predictions about Ati/AMD.

Perhaps, but what kind of thunder could the Ultra steel when the EVGA AS3 version of their regular 8800 GTX's are the same thing for $180 less?

That's what makes the ultra even more unimpressive. But that's Nvidia's problem, not AMD's. I was actually hoping to see r600 reviews today, to bad I'll have to keep waiting.

I blame them, and whoever believed it.

This is exactly why you dont go around believing everything you read on the net. Especially from the Inq and Fudzilla.

It's tough to steal thunder from an unreleased product, it's like trying to steal a fart from the wind. There's nothing there.

That's why I called it a fake launch date.

I've been using nothing but amd for every system I have built for a while now. .cpu/chipset/videocard.

They may not be on the bleeding edge right now, but nvidia is giving us a window into the future if amd leaves the video card business.
I don't know about you but I dont like the idea of shelling out 1k for a graphics card. .

You can bet your ass nvidia is feeling out the market, and if they think they can get away with it they will do it.
If ATI is out of the picture expect your wallet to be violated.
