yup, you click "run test" and you get to play for 6 minutes....in a completly passive and non interactive manner that doesnt require any further actions on your behalf ;)

i agree that this is just a benchmark but at the same time, i also think its a FAIRLY legitimate way to gauge performance and give us an IDEA of what to expect from a VPU

Yeah, the last boss level is really hard, and it's so laggy I'm only getting 2fps.

Lol.

Folks are going with what is available, until some other non-english, NDA-breaking, jibber-jabber Hong Kong website gives us some real gaming benchmarks, 3dmarkass is all "the believers" have.

i guess you could cheer your card on? that way you could take part

C'mon ya bast@rd! move it ..... pick up the pace, i want you vomiting on the floor when you finish now c'mon move your fat ass! FVCKING MOVE IT SON!

you cant judge by 3Dmark, use it as rough indication of performance, but you need real benchmarks.

Is there any real coherent speculation anywhere on this "512bit Ring Bus" tecnology? and if so Links anyone?

i have no idea how that works since the memory is still only connected at 256bits. we will probably have to wait on the reviews

There are games wot are CPU limited though. Lookie @ BF2: even with a Athlon 64 4000+, dual 7800 GTX GPU's offer no benefit until 1600x1200 @ max quality and even then the difference is barely a third faster than a single GPU at less than half the price which remains playable. At lower resolutions the dual 7800's fail to increase performance.

Here's my speculation:

It has a 256-bit mem interface, and the other 256-bit connection can be used for some on-die cache or buffer. The buffer can be used by the shaders so that one pixel pipe can see and use the calculation results of another pixel pipe, thus hopefully increasing the efficiency of the combined pipes. Well, at least that's my guess.

I have a mix feeling about it; it does help with the performance, but it is by-far bottlenecked by the 256bit memory bandwidth.

yet is says PC Mark 05: 6719

lol, it also says BFG 7800GTX OC @ 475/1360. Some people are hilarious

What's funny? The name of the card is 7800GTX OC and the clock speeds on mine are 475/1360

Wow you guys are making this a lot harder than necessary :)

Corporate Thug asked if you benched an r520 to get the score you claimed.
Keys, in response, said to look at your sig.
Corporate Thug looked at your sig and only saw the PCMark score (this is the funny part)
I pointed out that Keys meant that in your sig was the GTX (which is the card you got the score on, hence answering Thug's earlier question)
Now you come asking me why that's funny (which in itself is funny)

Hope that clears it up!

LOL!!! Wow. Maybe I should have just said that Fraktal had a 7800GTX. Would have saved quite a few posts I guess. I'll be more careful next time :D

i thought the claim lately has pretty much been r520 will be "competetive"?

still, given that, are these scores from a card that will actually see mass distribution (given all ati's re-tapes and inability to gain significant yields of higher pipe cores)?
