You're right. He woke up one day at age 40 and realized, "Hey! Professional wrestling is fake!" And unlike the rest of us who realized this at age 9 and threw away our Roddy Piper and Junkyard Dog thumb wrestlers, Benoit instead killed his wife and kid, then himself.

A Cousin of a GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigations) has heard in his circle is that Chris Benoit's wife killed their son Daniel, called Chris and told him to rush home because of an emergency which is why he missed last Sunday's Vengeance PPV. Upon arriving home Benoit killed his wife in a rage for the death of his son and then killed himself Monday morning. His wife's body was found in the master bedroom, strangled with the cord from an alarm clock. The son's body was found in his room apparently suffocated with a garbage bag. Chris then wrote a suicide note explaining what had happened, apologized to his family, his other children (from a separate relationship), and his fans. He then fashioned a slip-knot noose from from rope taken from the garage and hung himself from the banister in the foyer of his suburban Atlanta home.

This seems much more believable. Two days before a major PPV event where he had a title opportunity, he suddenly decides to kill his family? He's always seemed to be one of the calmer wrestlers. Steroids is probably out though, WWE announced a while back they were not allowing "performance enhancing drugs".

That seems more logical than him killing both...he wouldn't just not show up for an event. Why he didn't just call the police I don't know, but don't think he would have wanted that public scrutiny considering he's in the public eye and all. Probably just snapped and realized that was the "only" option. 🙁

most comeing out now have it that the wife killed the child. then Beniot came home seen that and killed her and then himself. IF true i can't blame him. if i came home and found my wife had killed my kids i would kill her.

Some people here are jumping too hard on unconfirmed reports that he may have killed his family.

the lead investigator has STATED that it is suspected he killed them both. The only place I've seen speculation about the wife doing anything was here.

I always find it funny when the cops say something then follow it up with that they still are awaiting further evidence to confirm things.

Why even say anything in the first place when they don't know for sure. It'll save them so much time and possibly embrassment.
