Jesus Christ. You can read my mind now, yllus? You don't know sh*t. I was talking about Babs. Despite my distaste for mosh's political views, I would never insult her like that.

Give me a fvcking break.

You weren't talking about Barbara Bush and that's 100% clear for all to see.

Do yourself a favour and wake up to the reality that you don't have to act like a bitter moron if a woman posts something contrary to your views. You've treated moshquerade like this from the day she started posting in here, and it's pretty pathetic. Get a grip.

In the words of our V.P., "Go fvck yourself." I *know* what I meant and it was in regards to Babs, not mosh.

Don't like? Tough.

I've apologized to mosh if she thought I was talking about her and that should be the end of it. But, no, you'd rather drag it out in some e-thug fashion. Give it up.

E-thug? That would be you, considering all the completely unwarranted personal attacks you've launched at her in the past solely because of her gender:

so she was wrong? you think they were privileged?

Hey Mosh, settle down. Are you saying that people that lost everything, their homes, their possessions, basically everything they own should feel happy that they are now staying in a glorious football stadium with nothing but the clothes on their backs? That they should be thankful to the government and the delayed response? Only an elitists can make a comment like the one Barbara Bush made, someone so out of touch with reality to assume that these people are better off now, many of whom probably have missing and dead family members who did not make it out alive.

did anyone else hear a "Bush pause and laugh"? i didn't hear it. 😕

right at the end, dude.

Maybe you should actually LISTEN to the clip rather than just reading it? She does the Bush Family pause and laugh during her statement. You'll understand when you listen to it.

After hearing it, and it sounds like it was on NPR radio, I see no issue at all with what she said. Anyone who does should listen to it.

it wasn't on NPR radio, it originally was on television. and let me tell you, it looked BAD.

I actually liked Barbara Bush as first lady, but I've since come to realize, just like many before her, and surely many after her, it's all for show.

She is. She's a piece of white trash with zero compassion. She's as disconnected from reality as the rest of the Bush gang.
Yeah, makes sense. I'm sure you were talking about Barbara Bush being part of the 'Bush gang', considering she's part of the family and all. Definitely not referring to moshquerade as part of an imaginary 'Bush gang' that roam P&N and routinely make expose you as the complete loon that you've become.

Hey, I thought he was talking about B.Bush. Conjur said he was not calling Mosh any names, so give it a rest

Wow, the twisting and contorting of her words to make it seem harmless is absolutely scary. She let her elitist personality slip in public, showing no compassion for people because they are poor and black, both of which she has no experience with. Anyone that can defend her for this slip is just a partition hack. Some things are just indefensible.

The same people who attacked Kerry for windsurfing can now justify this "let them eat cake" type comment from Queen Bush, it's just too sad to be funny.

really rickn, you didn't need to get involved in this. you have further twisted conjur's statements. all of what he said wasn't directed at me as he has said, but some of it was.

and when i look at what this thread is about the irony of what you are trying to accomplish is rather humorous.

I'm somewhat confused about why this is such a big issue. I've even read through every post here and I'm still confused. Wasn't she ultimately stating that it must be nice for the suffering people from New Orleans to have a safe place to find shelter? Even if these peoples' lives have been torn apart, it's good that they have safety in the Astrodome instead of being stuck in a flooded city. I'm just not sure where the criticism is. Was she implying that these people were poor? Weren't most of them? Or was she implying that these people had sad and pathetic lives?

Not every person who stayed behind was underprivileged. What of the hotel workers? Hospital workers? City employees?

Is Fats Domino underprivileged?

Here, educate yourself for once, mosh:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4835162

Not everyone living in the 9th ward was poor.
did she say everyone was underprivileged? she said, "so many" were.

stop living in absolutes.

Stop going in over your head. Airhead. Shes implying that somehow this disaster was BETTER for these people.

I think what she is saying, well more importantly what it SOUNDS like she is saying, is that their lives were bad before the event. Now they are benefitting from assistance, and they don't have crappy lives! 🙂

She basically sounds as thought she feels these people are now better off...which is simply absurd. total detachment from reality.

Exactly what I said above.

Alot of people commenting on this are missing the point. There is no arguement that most if not all of the Astrodome refugees are 'under-privilaged'.. the point is that her comment inferred that they should be happy to be there because they were not doing much better for themselves when they had their homes.

I have heard the clip and there is a slight giggle even as she is saying it.

Really?? How many displaced are currently in Houston???
read what she said
Barbara Bush said: "Almost
everyone I?ve talked to says we're going to move to
Houston." Then she added: "What I?m hearing which is sort of
scary is they all want to stay in Texas.

she is saying the people she's talked to all have mentioned going to Houston, and that's scary being that so many of them plan to settle there. she is thinking that a large majority feel this way and it may be too much for Houston to handle.

good gawd you people just love making something out of nothing. you should be in the media.

All the people she's talked are IN houston. Read.

sorry.....how would you want to hear a comment from some "privileged" former first lady, AFTER you just lost your house, your hometown destroyed, maybe even lost some relatives, got injured, are starving, sit around and hear her saying "everything worked out quite well".

Ridiculous...especially in conjuntion with "...were underprivileged"....so...would that mean if the evacuees wre RICH people it would actually be BAD for them being in this situation - but for poor people it's "quite well"...

gimme a break.

These people are f*cktards and it just shows you how much connections those peole have to real life problems affecting a lot of poor/quite poor people...ranging from unemployment to social security, health insurance WHATSOEVER...
