Like everyone else said, the singer destroys any talent the band might have

And for the record I listen to ALOT of melodic death metal and even some black, but thats completely different... Had this band used a low growl type like Opeth or so, it would be cool, but hardcore vocals are the new teenie thing nowadays, I hate it

I couldn't even stand it back when I was a teenager. I wanted to like Pantera, but even they had too much of it for me.

Wow...got through about 15 seconds of that before I closed the window. That was absolutely horrible.

Where is the melody? There is nothing musical, really--the music consists of very fast drum beats, the same chord or two repeated and some guy trying to sound demonic screaming in a microphone. Meh.

I enjoy growling so long as the growls aren't the listen-to-a-singer-vomit-on-a-microphone type of growls. Neglected Fields is a pretty good melodic/progressive death metal band.

Like the growl, give "OPETH" a listen.

Latest CD is Ghost of Perdition and it is fabulous. I personally am not a big growl music listener but this one is to good not to overlook the vocals.

The first song is the title song and has some OUTSTANDING changeups in the middle.

It's not that bad. I really hate that kind of singing though. Some bands pull it off by actually growling in tune with the music. This singing is like like static that has regular breaks to make it sound like speech. That White walls song does get damn good in the latter half though...

BTBAM is definitely one of the greatest bands i've listened too. Colors is their best effort so far (but all of their albums are great).

I only like growling if it goes completely over the top like Behemoth. Then it's sort of silly and fun. Like "anti-music".

Ants of the Sky is my favorite song off Colors. I don't really think of the vocals as the "lead" in their music. The real star of the show are the instrumentals. The vocals might as well be another percussion instrument as far as I'm concerned.

I listen to a lot of metal... Lamb of God, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Opeth, etc., but that singer blows giant dong and ruins everything.

They'll dedicate a whole semester to BTBAM in future Music Theory courses:roll:

Just as all politcal science courses will focus on Ron Paul from here on out.

Wow, I think they're very bad :p - Sorry to rag on em', just not my cup of tea. People's tastes in music varies greatly more than any other subject. I would not consider it music either, but it doesn't bother me that other people can enjoy it. Saying they're the best band in existence is deservedly going to bring you some heat.

I notice how everyone refers to these lead vocalists as "growlers". That's appropriate, because they sure as hell aren't singers, and growling isn't singing. It's simply yelling at the top of your lungs and distorting your voice. Totally kills the appeal of what, in some cases, is some good metal music.

I don't mind dudes with rough or raspy voices, and I even prefer the higher voices, but the growling just sucks. Hell, anyone who says they figured out the lyrics to much of this music by listening rather than reading the lyrics somewhere is full of it.

hahaha. started listening to it and I heard "hello" "hello" between the growls. I was like WTF, then realized it was the Smiley Banner Flash Ad above. It was the only thing I could understand in the whole mess.

awful. just awful. how could you possibly be in a mood where you think "hey, i could sure use someone screaming(growling?) in my ears right now"
