I would have flamed you to in this case. Chances are the guy got sick and tired of replying to emails at could be answered by the sender's themselves.

I work for a small business and we stopped dealing with end users for these reasons...you make a $9 sale and it ends up costing you three times that in time and profit trying to make it right, when it was never wrong to begin with.

I will also add I just checked out your 'Super Rigs'....you seem to have something wrong with you: 'Yes that's right this is my home machine' 'yes a second one [WD 1200JB]' 'self note finding out what to do with 400GB on a lan machine'

It's a nice pair of machines but I seem to doubt it was more than just a display of excess than having a purpose other than bragging rights....and in that case there are far more impressive machines on AT than those two.

No, he's saying he asked about the package because as of that point (the 21st), he had not yet received anything other than the receipt for his order. Once he finally got the tracking # from the shop, he saw that they shipped it on the 19th.

i ordered early nov 17th, first email sent to him the evening of the 21st, and tracking showed it to be shipped the 19th. so he had two whole days to send word to me of shipment but didn't. at the least even an email notification that he will be sending it out soon or confirmation that he even received my order would have been nice, but i had nothing.


Looks to me like the company was out of line in flaming him for asking for something as simple as a tracking number.

Reguardless of the situation, this is no way for a business to reply to a customer, no matter what their purchase size. WTF is with the personal attack? You're basing your whole argument on assumptions, and it's making you look like an ass.

When I did PC stuff as a business, people pulled this kind of crap, I would send them packing or just leave then and there...they could put it back together themselves, if they make BS threats to me on company property I will wait until I run into them off my premises and settle it up, it's the way it goes...whether someone is a customer or not I expect them to be civil if they expect me to be.

I help out tons of people no reciprocation needed and most feel as if they got the item sent faster and in better condition than they expected, but there are tons of idiot customers that call you the next day at 9am for an order they placed at midnight and expect you to be boxing it up already. Also they will order a used item and then complain they can tell it's used and pick out the same information you disclosed in the description and pictures of the item.

This sounds like the same case. He got all huffy puffy about me asked what was the day of the month he ordered on, yet we are to assume he was all nice four days later with them?

It's usually some $10 item and they are wanting to be treated special. I think this happened here.

Even if he had emailed a couple days even after having tracking info, which does not appear to be the case, the company has no basis to start an attack on him like this - period.

Well, I'm surprised that since your wife is Asian the racial slur didn't touch a nerve... I would have been enraged if someone made a racial slur towards me when all I asked was a tracking number...

Hmm it really don't matter if the guy was emailing him 50 times a day. the reply he got was immature and unprofessional.

there is NO reason to use racial slurs when emailing a person in a professional setting. heck in any setting.

i used to run my own business also (had a small computer store). yes i would get some jerks that would email me on Monday complaining why the 3 day delivery package they ordered on Monday was not there yet or other BS stuff. But i never replied in a such a way. I wanted more business and acting like the guy did wont do it. Look at how many people in this thread dint like it.

as a business owner and being 32 you should be adult enough understand this.

He never originally said it was 4 business days, that's why I was asking the dates...then he begrudgingly mentioned it as the 17th (a monday)....

However, I wasn't trying to start with him yet he told me I should read his original post and stated second sentence where he XX'd out the dated (I don't know why he did that). Anyways....it ticked me off as I was trying to be helpful and did read his post fully.

I am not warranting the flaming response, flaming is never justified, but it happens...I am willing to bet each person in this thread has sent a flame to someone.

Same thing with a business, esp your own business where you are not representing anyone else but yourself. Someone tells me in an email they are going to come down and smack some sense into me (usually mentioning getting me fired too), you can bet I am not going to be polite in my reply. I do not need that kind of customer and I would not expect my employee to put up with it, yet alone get worried about their job....the two young guys that work for the company have been told they can cancel the order if no one else is around and someone belittles them or insults them.

Since we deal with mostly businesses now a lot of the poor treatment is gone...it just wasn't worth it to deal with endusers even though we had the lowest prices (sometimes beating ebay even). However, even on some of the vendor only trade lists I use flamewars break out. The policy is if anyone has a problem with anyone else they can post "Before dealing with "X company" please call me" X company is allowed to post their own "Please contact us" topic too. Still people abuse it and post long flames that turn out to be unwarranted and just an attempt to use the flame if a discount is not given....this happens on ebay to....if you are a powerseller at least, people try to negotitate after the deal for a better price or freebie or else 'will have to leave a negative'.

In addition, you threw in a bunch of accusations based on nothing; then made stupid statements about his computer rig that was totally irrelevant to what is in this thread. If you are as good being helpful as with running your little business, I'll be shocked that it hasn't gone under yet. I hate assholes who run a business like this guy on Yahoo and guys like you. You need that one single customer more than he needs you, so try not to act all high and mighty next time.

It was all figured out as far as time spent, items ordered, and profit/price paid....we lost money everytime selling to the end user segment at our low prices. We didn't want to raise prices because then we would lose the business end and if we had different pricing tiers we'd have to deal with complaints about that. So that's that.

As far as you knowing who I am it shows how close-minded you are and also anti-business....especially considering you are only hearing one side of a story here. I don't know about you, but I have rarely seen anything like this from the way it was laid out.

As far as my personal business here, absolutely no one has been let down and most are impressed with my packaging and shipping speed, and even more so getting items in way better condition than they imagined. I have over 130 positive ebays personally....with difficult items to sell (scsi and obscure stuff that can be trouble for installing)...

I deal with equipment on a list everyday and I have seen all these flamefest about this guy did this, and that guy's check bounced, and that guy did a chargeback and kept the eq, etc....the list admins had to stop it because everytime there was reasons behind the problems that the original poster left out.

As much as everyone is defending takeru here, you are endangering the survival of a family-run business if his facts are not accurate.

According to ebay they have 32 positives and have been around since 2/2003....some by 12000+ feedback members and all are pretty glowing reviews.

The fact is we have no idea why a company with what appears to be a really good ebay feedback set suddenly decides to respond to a rational email sent by an asian with racist remarks and flames. I don't know about you guys, but I have seen enough so called 'honest stories' being later proven false to go off and try to bring down a business through false reviews of them.

I really think this is most people's chance to try and hit me when I am down....which I am not, people are looking at my flame and while my flame may have been uncalled for, it does not prove this guy right.

For all we know they sent him a notification email he deleted, his provider deleted, he got but choice not to tell us, extra.
For all we know he sent them a flaming email, perhaps finding the same belt cheaper elsewhere, or just ticked off about the lack of notification.

Again this company seems to have only happy, some very very happy customers and I hardly doubt they would send a total asinine and flaming mail over 3 belts for a simple request of tracking info and status.
