Quinn wins Maxwell Trophy

So, if the ballot for the Heisman trophy is as lopsided as is being predicted, how in the world did Quinn get awarded the Maxell.

Are the folks voting on the Maxwell simply loaded up on ND alumni?

LOL, so you're saying the Buckeyes would have been better without Smith than ND would have been without Quinn?

Quinn might as well have been absent in all their big games this year, and the games he actually did play well in were cupcake city. Quinn is one of the most overrated players in college football history.

I posed the question, because it seems incredulous that the Heisman is going to so lopsided and yet, Quinn won the Maxwell.

The Heisman is not the only trophy, just the one that casual football fans know. There are other awards, and generally they are less political than the Heisman and can feel free to pick the best player at that position instead of someone on the #1 team in the country.

Nope I think you have it backwards. Look at the talent ND has, especially juniors and seniors. Quinn elevated a very mediocre team, while Smith has much superior talent around him. There are a few good ND players, but their overall talent level is pretty low and Quinn and Weis are the only reasons why ND even cracked the top ten this year.

You're missing the point. Quinn has been a non-factor in all of ND's games against good teams.
