I'm currently using some Sunon 80mm case fans rated at 36cfm and 32dbs from 2cooltek. Can anyone recommend some more quieter 3 pin fans?

You can also run your fans at 7 volts instead of 12, that might be worth a try before you invest in new fans. Otherwise, the Panaflos are just great.

Sunon obviously - but I'm going for piece of mind here. I doubt my case even needs those b/c I'm only doing moderate OCing.

Marauder,

Question re: your original post -- the sunons you have are those the "quiet" models from 2cooktek?

Has anyone ordered from TeamAwe? They are selling the Panaflos.

They do not appear to take credit card orders, and want you to send them a money order. Not real comfortable with that.

Berkut -

I was thinking about ordering from TeamAwe, but I, too, was unaware of the money order thing. I wouldn't be comfortable with that either. I posted a request for experience ordering from them on both the General Hardware and Cases and Cooling forums. You may want to subscribe to those topics.

Would people be interested in a Peerless Electronics Group Order? We'd just need 3 or 4 people but if more people are interested I'm sure something can be worked out. The price would probably be $5 for the first fan, $4 for each additional.

I have no idea who Peerless is, but I will be needing the following Panaflo L1A's:
- 60mm x 1
- 80mm x 6
- 92mm x 4

EDIT: OK, went to the Peerless site and saw that they have 80mm Panaflos. The thing I am curious about ... these are tail-less fans - no connectors - so obviously what needs to be done once I get the fans is that I need to solder connectors onto them. But where do I get the connectors?

Well the sale is for the 80mm Panaflos. I just need another person who wants 2 to get in on this.

Even though you guys sound like you might go with Peerless, I just wanted to say that I've bought a bunch of Panaflo's from Teamawe and had very good experiences. The Panaflo's are the best case fans IMHO b/c they really are quiet and the cooling you get is pretty decent. If that isn't enough, then the price you can find them at makes it hard not to go with them. I would say though that you definitely should have no problems going with Teamawe if you don't go with Peerless....

Fan Guy-
I have some links at home where you can get 3-pin or 4-pin connectors for your fans. I'm at work...I'll post them when I get home in the morning. Tailing a fan is really simple. Or better yet go to Radio Shack where you can get the stuff to make yourself a fan bus for very cheap. No need to tail your fans then.

Also, I've bought from Peerless and had very good results.

Yeah you need a soldering iron, some heat shrink and a 3 or 4 pin connector if you want to tail the fan. I prefer a fan bus then I don't have to tail them at all. At most I usually have to extend the length of the wires. Follow the instructions in the Teamawe link above for fan tailing.
