I ordered some 10.2 gig maxtors from my supplier, and they sent a model different than what I ordered that where so noisy,I could not sell the system. I replaced with samsung Hdds and the customer is happy. My supplier would not give me a replacement,so I called maxtor. They are not only giving me two repacements,I'm getting a better model in the swap.No Fuss,No Muss. I'm quite impressed with this outfit. All my other Maxtor Hdds are relatively quite, but these two 31024u2's are just like earlier said, worse than dragging your fingernails down a chalkboard.
The tech support guy there refered me to thier download site to get Maxblaster.exe. Its supposed to be a great boot disk for Hdds with a more robust partitioning program and other goodies. I will try it when I get my next hdds.
