Hey, im new to digital photography, and need to take a certain type of shot. I want the forground in focus, and the backround blurred. Do I adjust the aperture or f stop or am i missing something?

If it's a regular point and shoot digital, it might not put the background out of focus by very much.

Try and use a higher zoom with a wide open aperture.

If your camera has it so you can set the focus by pressing lightly on the shutter button, just center your subject and press it...everything behind should go blurry...sorry not a very technical explanation lol its just how I've done it before
