Okay i will call about my other problem, now I am wondering how quickly I can get this degree done.

I was wondering of the current or recent college people on here, how many credit hours did you take a quarter and how many hours did you work, assuming you also had a job.

I work part time, usually only around 20 hours a week, maybe a little less sometimes. I was kinda wondering if I could get by taking 3 classes per quarter, or about 9-15 credit hours per quarter.

I would think I would be okay with work and classes, just wodnering if i would have time for homework, and studying.

So let me know what you guys are doing.

About what?

Some classes list a class number as a prerequesit, others only list placement into a certain class as a prereq. Well they have me taking 3 classes in the first quarter. On of those classes list the other 2 as prerequisites, how do they expect me to take all 3 classes at once if I need to complete the first 2 before taking the 3rd.

Some classes say prerequisite, but sometimes concurrent enrollment is good enough.

You really need to speak with the department office or some kind of advisement center.

Don't worry about prerequisites. Most of the time there stupid.

Edit Unless it is like calc 1 is required for calc 2

So how many credit hours and how many hours do you work? Trying to figure out how many classes I can handle per quarter.

I work 20 hours a week and take between 12-16 hours a semester. Taking 16 this Fall semester coming up.

I'm currently taking 22 credits. I don't have an official job, but I'm a Senior in Army ROTC and that requires a lot of extra time (gone whole weekends sometimes).

It really depends on the level of your load, the difficulty of classes, the school you're at, etc.

I completely burned myself out last semester working 20 hours a week, carrying eighteen credits (6 classes), 4-5 of which were reading/writing intensive.

How many classes you can handle per quarter depends entirely on you. My dad worked full time, took 22 credits, and got straight A's.

well rather then credit hours, about how long where you in each of your classes, actual hours wise I mean.

If I do what I am thinking, I would be working like 1-5 M-F, then probablly take 1, 4 hour class 3 out of the 5 days(M-F, don't want to school on weekends). SO 3 days a week i would be working/school 9 hours per day not including travel time. Then I would have whatever time may be left in those days as well as the other 4 days to do homework. It sounds doable, I just want to make sure before I do it.

Usually 4-5 classes a quarter. I am too busy with classes to work. I have co-oped when I wasn't taking classes though.

Well, I am not sure what I will be able to handle exactly, but I can guarentee it won't be that much.

I am just getting an associates from a community college. They have it set up as on average 5 classes over 6 quarters. I actually only require 27 of those classes for the degree, but there are 2 others I want to take, for a total of 29 classes. So I figure at about 3 classes per quarter, I would be done in 10 months or 2.5 years.
