The army must have some stinky dogs, then.At USARPC Basic Sentry Dog School, we were told that baths were bad for our German Shepherd Dogs.
Shampoo can strip the oils out of a dogs outer coat. These oils help protect the dog as well as helping to keep them dry in the rain.
My experience is that a daily brushing works best ... Though, I understand that some dogs, therapy dogs for example, are given baths before their hospital visits.
If you have the time, you might want to pick up a good brush and try regular brushing rather than bathing.

If a dog's going to live in my house, then she's is going to get a bath when she needs it. I don't want my house to smell like dog.
