If a guy hits a home run, but is unable to run the bases (say, gets hurt after crossing first or second), what happens?

He gets credit for the last base touched. If he does not make it past 2nd, credit him w/ a double.
Robin Ventura anyone?

So when does the pinch runner come in? If he touches second and his legs fall off, then the play ends, a pinch runner comes in and the game resumes like it was a double?

You can only bring a pinch runner in during a timeout. You can't continue running the bases after the timeout. Well, you can try, but the pitcher will have the ball.
