Make your life easy. Download and install Webmin right after you get your Linux install done. Among other things, it makes setting up Samba MUCH easier. Samba is used for file sharing between Linux boxes and Windows systems.

This system should haul butt. If i feel like playen around I turn my counterstrike server on and it is a dual P II 350 with 128m connected to dsl 768/128. It runs but has some high pings around 200 or so for people playen. Yours shouldn't stumble to much. Have fun and let me know the server name so I can give it a shot.

holy cow. I just looked up webmin on my newly installed linux box, and it came pre-installed. I fired up my web browser and took a look, and

*** OH MY GOD ***

This single program is --the-- godsend for linux configuration.

Thanks Russ!!!!!!

Yeah, it's a pretty nifty piece of work.:D I can make changes to my server from anywhere on my network. Just make sure you have it bound to a LAN address, NOT a WAN address.

webmin is pretty cool. I install for all my newbies that I build servers for. :) Anyways...I always compile it myself and run it over ssl and a different port and write a good secure access list for it so that joe shmoe can't just access it and use brute force to hack away at the password.
