Audyssey set my surrounds and rear surrounds to 150 hz and the front and centers to 40 hz. Should I change these values (to 80hz)? It also lowered my sub to -7db which seems low.

like I said, your room setup determines those settings more than what we can tell you. Just go with what it is telling you for now. And subs are not supposed to stand out. Probably placed too close to a corner or wall.

I did have to move it closer to the corner to fit the speakers (it's not ALL THE WAY in the corner or touching walls or anything though). :D I definitely do need a new sub though, you guys were right. I might raise it a couple db.

Do you guys beleive in speaker break-in?

Audyssey has a tendency to adjust subs lower than they should be. Don't let it be the end-all-be-all of your speaker setup. Turn the sub back up to where you like the sound. 150hz is good for your current surrounds but I'd crank the center crossover back north of 60hz. 40hz is probably fine for the mains.

Thanks sith, I took your advice. Bumped the sub to -5 and increased the center crossover value. It changes the sound ever so subtley.

So pretty much everything you guys said is coming true. I'm totally gonna spend a bunch (for me) of money on a new sub sooner rather than later.

Ha.

Would it be bad if I raised the center a db?

Also, I've decided that these bigger speakers do a much better job for more complicated scenes with a lot of shit going on. And having big speakers does make me wanna turn them up louder, heh.

Run pink at -20dbfs thru the system and check on a spl meter if the center is the same as the left speaker. You may need to raise the center a bit.
