Questions about Costco's Return Policy

A friend of mine said that Costco will take anything back, even electronics. My question is if I were to...say...buy a plasma or hdtv there and two years from now, I decide I don't want it, can I take it back in?

Reason I ask is because this friend of mine used to buy computers, use them for about a year, then return them and get a new/better one.

Can anyone share their experiences with this?

Technically that is what their policy states - a money back guarantee for the life of the product (I think). There may be some issues with the manager in the future when they look at your receipt and see a date of 2 years though.

It sounds like your friend is actually worse than the people who buy extended warranties and then break the merchandise themselves to get newer better stuff...

If you are really planning to take the TV back in two years, do everyone a favour and don't buy it right now.

However, Costco's return policy from a customer-satisfaction point of view is excellent. When it comes to clothes it almost makes up for not having fitting rooms

Hey, what's wrong with that. Many of the sales associate at Future Shop tell customers that very thing when selling the extended warranty. If the store is condoning the action, why not take advantage of it

Exacly - The salespeople say that because they are under orders to sell those stupid plans. (and they get commision for it too right? Never worked at one of those places...)

I beg your pardon. I am merely asking a question regarding a companies return policy. Reason I ask is because I find this truly unbelievable that if someone were to just "not want it", they could return it, which is why I asked the question in the first place. But no, some of you like to jump the gun and automatically assume I'm a scumbag or a fraud.

I recently bought some God-awful salmon burgers there, buy one get one free. I was talking to the returns guy at costco while I was returning something else and he issued a refund on the salmon and told me to throw it all away.

I love costco, I hope people don't abuse it so much they change.

Reread your original post, you're clearly eluding that you want to buy something then bring it back two years later. Anyone with a reasonable center of moral gravity would understand this to be inappropriate.
