Question for people that voted for Trump in the primaries

I am not going to pile on and say "I told you so", just asking a serious question... How did you think this would turn out?

Trump really hasn't done anything out of character. This is who he is, and who we all knew he always was. There have been no surprises at all, other than him winning the republican primaries. I am just wondering what you guys expected to happen... Did you think he would suddenly start acting like a mature reasonable adult after the convention? Did you see him getting any respect at all on the world stage, or not being combative in every situation he comes across? I mean really, how did you see this ending? Its really a shame because there were some good reps in the field like Kasich that really could have given corrupt Hilary a problem, and likely won the oval office.

I have been dumbfounded from the moment Trump started gaining traction in the primaries. I don't see how anyone can watch him speak and not realize what a fool the man is. I still don't understand how this nomination ever happened.

I'm right there with you. It's embarrassing for our nation quite frankly.

By the way, Kasich was someone I might have voted for. He was the only one in the field of republicans I would have considered voting for actually. The rest of them are too far right, too religious, too extreme and Trump just doesn't have the temperament. I have never supported Trump and never will.

I can only imagine that anyone who votes for Trump or Clinton is actually just voting against the other. At this point, anyone who truly believes one of the turds is worthy of a vote shouldn't be allowed to vote at all. Clinton supporters, Trump supporters... LOL Has to be just blind partisanship. There can't really be that many stupid people.??

Me too... In the republican primaries, Kasich was the one that was beating Hilary in the "if one one one" polls. Because he behaved like a mature adult, had actual govt. experience where he accomplished real things, and of course, is not an extreme nutjob. The republican base didn't like him because he is too moderate... Ugh. The problem with the republican party is that they are so damned intolerant, 1/2 of them cant even tolerate the other 1/2. SO frustrating... Now we will be stuck with another 4 years of corrupt spendy BS.

This. We, the American voter is getting exactly what we have wanted.

That's how badly people want action against offshoring and the border.
The rest of the field were largely politicians who speak to the issue with the same wink and nod GWB gave, meaning they weren't going to do !@#$. Those voters want a revolution in this country.

That is clearly what some republican voters wanted... But lets go with that thought. So they want to stop offshoring and something done about the open borders? What made them think that a man that knows zero about how politics works would get anything done on these subjects? I just feel like it was as obvious as could possibly be that Trump was an obnoxious self obsessed blowhard who doesn't do anything for anyone but himself. I just don't see how anyone could have believed anything he ever said or had faith he would get anything done. Even if he had good intentions he is simply too combative to get anything done in politics.

This is the false equivalency that drives me crazy. Hilary may be a flawed candidate, but she would make a good president. She and Trump are not even on the same level to be comparable. She has spent her life trying to make the country better, even though she had some issues.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The one and most important way that they are comparable is that both have proven themselves to be unworthy of our trust.
Neither is worthy of a vote.

Neither should get our vote. But, we'll convince ourselves that our turd smells better than their turd so it must be good for us. Keep cheering for your team it's what you've been programmed to do.

I'm sorry, maybe you can explain why you believe Hilary is not worthy of our vote rather than parroting right wing propaganda. Again, I don't like Hilary and she wouldn't be my first choice. But to act like she isn't capable or a decent candidate it taking it too far.

Welcome to politics.

If you do not like the way the system works maybe you should move to North Korea.

It turns out they actually have an avereage household income of >70k so not exactly doing poorly, so I guess that was just cover for putting minorities & women in their place.

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. If you can't see it already, there's nothing I can say to wake you up. It's the same with the Trump supporters. I'm not going to change a single one. To them, I'm just parroting left wing propaganda.

Wake up sheeple.

Maybe you're right. Not sure about North Kore but since I'm not smart enough think of a better way and there is surely no one in America smart enough to think of an alternative strategy.

Even if someone had a better idea and the time was right for real change, how could they possibly organize this revolution? There would have to be millions of dissatisfied people to overcome the majority that are happy being told what to think. Then we'd need some form of communication to reach all of those dissatisfied people. Yep, it's impossible. Pass me another turd. Thank you.

It really speaks to the problems this country has when a fairly typical centrist is considered the same thing as trump.

The only thing she's considered as the same as Trump is unworthy of a vote. The reasons don't need to be the same for that not to be a "false equivalency." If you think Hillary Clinton is a great candidate then great, but you guys not even being able to fathom why she's unacceptable to others simply shows that you have a huge blind spot in your ability to accurately gauge the objections of others.

It's pretty obvious why she's "unacceptable" to the folks who parrot this; it doesn't speak well of them either.

Your inability to see Trump as completely incompetent is pretty amazing also.

I'm well aware of why Hillary has detractors, and a lot of it is unsubstantiated BS.

I thought that would be your response. Instead of producing your rational, you trade in typical false equivalencies. Congratulations, you've officially outsourced your mind to right wing propaganda.

For decades of opposition research and millions spent on committees with subpoena power, the few things the right have on Hillary are her private server and Benghazi. Yet she is somehow not worthy of your vote? You're a joke.

Neither of which has had any traction in my mind to begin with.

The money spent on the Benghazi issue in Congress to begin with is ridiculous.

I'm sorry she's quantitatively better than Trump. You can disagree with every single one of her policies, but compared to Trump how can't you not see that she's way more qualified and an adult in the room compared to a 16 year old buffoon that says the dumbest shit.

How can you compare encouraging nuclear proliferation, cutting ties with our allies, insulting war vets (and then saying you have their backs), being manipulated by russia to an email server or benghazi.

I dont want to wake up for the next 4 years of my life wondering what dumb shit the president is going to say or if we're going to go into a nuclear war. give me a fucking email scandal every day for the next 8 years over that shit.

I'm registered as republican but I don't vote along party lines. I voted for Obama twice (I would have voted for McCain but then he went batshit insane and choose a complete moron as his running mate) and I also voted for GWB the first time although in hindsight Al Gore probably would have been a much better president.

I'm voting for Hillary because Trump is such a bad choice for the country. I also don't want a conservative choosing the next Supreme Court Justice.

Hillary has the temperament and experience to lead this country. Trump is completely unfit to lead.
