I've worked in the food service industry for a good 6 years now and never have I violated a customer's food.
The extent of me messing with a person's food was giving them Diet when they wanted Regular, or not putting enough ice/lemon in their drinks. Oh, and letting the food get a little bit colder.

As pissed off as a customer had made me - I would never do that.

Regulars that normally tipped 5%, or people that were just plain rude and I didn't mind losing the tip.

So you're saying that customers have to pay a fee (tip) not to have their food messed with?
Something is seriously wrong with you then or the place you worked for have no clue about basic work and business ethics. A retaurant is supposed to serve the food un-****** with to start with.

I worked as a cook in a few places over the last few years I was in highschool, never messed with any food. For the most part I made the best food I could, and on the few times I got customers who were just complete and utter aholes, I just gave them small portions that were poorly done, but not messed with.
When I worked at McDonald's though, we used to do some crazy stuff, nothing overly nasty, but we used to keep meat in the heaters for hours past when we should've.

According to frustrateduser, there's something seriously wrong with you or your establishment.
You know, even though you were probably still working within the boundaries of your job and what is considered proper service.
