say i catch a pass, pump fake, defender jumps, i side step without dribbling, shoot, buttery j.

anyway, is the sidestep considered traveling

yes. by sidestep i assum you mean, step with one foot followed by a simliar step with the other.

so what about this..you catch a pass while running, take two steps and go for a layup. or catching a pass from midcourt, take two steps and shooting. that traveling too?

apparently it's not traveling or carrying to run through the lane with the ball held in the crook of your arm like LT carrying the rock in the NBA. but only if you're a marquis player.

I'm surprised on one has said this yet:

Lots of people in the NBA travel but only the star players get called for it.

the question is, are they star players because they're allowed to travel or were they star players before?

So it's OK if he does it?

I thought it was just me....I don't watch basketball anymore, but I flipped through some playoff games and watched for a few minutes and was wondering how they weren't getting called for traveling or if they had changed the rules.

I watched the Lakers a lot when I was a kid and Magic and Kareem were on the team...lots has changed since then.

Do the refs purposely not call those travels just to keep the game moving?

its so that the stars can do their fancy moves, makes for better game watching, icnreases popularity and sales, and thers no way in hell you will call shaq out for travel😛

its like a frequent flyer program - the more they travel, the more priviledges theyre entitled to
