I've been looking for a summer job while in college and yesterday I had an interview with someone at a company called "Vector Marketing" and they gave a pretty enticing demonstration on what to expect if I sold products them... I would visit customers (with pre-setup appointments) and try to sell them this company's product (I believe they sell products from a company called "Cut Co").
I guess they say I get paid $15 per appointment, or 10% of orders over $150.. (which ever is higher) now according to them, the average order is $250 and 3 of every 5 appointments end up in a sale. I have an extremely hard time believing this, not to mention the time between appointments was never specified. I feel like I could work a steady 10 dollar an hour job and make more.. (If there are two appointments, each take an hour to do + a 30 minute travel time would equal 7.50/hr if there wasn't a sell of at least $200 every two hours)
They've already scheduled me for a training seminar thats supposed to begin later today, should I even bother & tell him thanks but no thanks? Or are these types of jobs actually worth something?
Edit: I just found this link, after simply searching "vector marketing", its the third result.
