seems like dropping 400 dollars on a player that can play current versions of divx would be kind of silly, unless they have some kind of plan to give you free upgrade that allow you to play newer versions of divx...

Yeah, that is true, there are even cases made by various companies that look like DVD/VCR players.
There is This Case, but you would need a MicroATX mobo...i've already got all the parts for it, but where can i find a case that looks like a dvd player?
