have you ever heard a loud OEM system? i haven't.

No of course I haven't heard of a loud OEM system. Someone said their new video cooling system was loud, and I was simply stating that it is not.

Why not state there using corsair? is that asking too much.

You are grasping now. The argument you based your criticism on was based on your lack of understanding on the different types of ram. Give it a rest. I am sure a simple call or email to their customer service people will get you the the exact ram they use in their systems. As far as divulging the exact parts they spec out in their systems Alienware releases far more information than any other large OEM i know of. For myself while i think they are very good systems probably the best oem gaming systems you can buy I figure i can usually build 1 1/2 nearly identical systems myself for about the same $.

Quote from July2003 MaximumPC article on Alienware Area51:
"The 51's parts loadout is difficult to poke holes in. 3Ghz P4c. 1GB CORSAIR DDR400. A pair of 120GB SATA seagate Barracuda V hdd's run in RAID 0. Etc, Etc."
I think that answers the question..

sure it does...my rig is faster and it was cheaper.

It's not corsair, they dont use corsair because there systems arent ment to be overclocked. I emailed them and there reply was " we use samsung memory in our area 51 machines".

My friend bought one, and it is a great PC with all of the features that one person mentioned (email notifications of driver updates and more). Plus, I wasn't called over to sit down and figure out how to get the top performance out of his PC :p. He bought the PC last week and that AlienIce system is NOT loud. That system is very quiet and I give them a lot of credit for building a stylish, fast, and relatively quiet PC.
Thanks, if I decide to be lazy and not build my P4 I'm seriously considering Alienware, though ABS and Dell are also choices.

If I was to buy a system instead of build one, I would probably chose ABS over Alienware and Dell. I configured two systems from ABS for some relatives of mine (one was a 1.2Ghz Thunderbird and the other was a 2.2Ghz P4), since I was too lazy to build them myself, and they are very very fast yet also quite stable. You can even have them set up your PC in a RAID0 or RAID1 array. How 'bout that? :)
