Uma Thurman = Uhura
SLJ = Captain J.T.Mother*cker Kirk (obviously)

giggles aside, i am also cautiously excited for this. QT is a man who knows his TV shows, and hopefully he's do something along the lines of TOS - "all problems solved by beating aliens with rocks"

I'd actually like to see Samuel L Jackson as Spock. He'd be an insanely freaking hilariously awesome Spock.

I'm less enthusiastic than I was before.

If its not written by Quentin Tarantino, its not a Quentin Tarantino film. Though it may not be horrible.

Revenant was a fantastic movie though. It was brutal, intense, well directed, and well acted. I'm not the biggest QT fan, but I appreciate his work, and have enjoyed some of his movies. For his work to appeal to the Star Trek audience though, he needs someone to keep him in check. Otherwise, it'll just be a movie for his own fan base.

So glad its not Abrams directing this one though.

I think I agree with some points. Star Trek could probably use some originality and Quentin might actually provide it.
This is actually the sole worrisome piece of news associated with Tarantino’s interest in Star Trek: the story he reportedly wants to tell. Tarantino has said in interviews that he would like to remake one of the classic episodes with the budget of a feature film. The two episodes, in particular, that he’s expressed an interest in are The Original Series’The City on the Edge of Forever” and TNG‘s “Yesterday’s Enterprise.”
I think City on the Edge of Forever could work, but only if they do a new story. With all of time and space to play with, they shouldn't go back to that same stupid social worker. Yesterday's Enterprise might work better.

I'm less enthusiastic than I was before.

The Revenant makes me think of different episodes, like Arena (the Gorn one), or maybe Shore Leave.

But given Tarantino's apparent interest in time travel stories, the only one I can think of both fitting with is All Our Yesterdays.
