So phaser mexican stand off with spaceships?

I've had Sergio Leone moments popping into my head every time I check on this topic now... God I hope someone gets me the 'Man With No Name' trilogy on BR for Christmas :)

I would have been excited about this, but I just watched the Hateful Eight and that movie was quite terrible. It actually could have been a really good movie too and performances in it were excellent outside of Channing Tatum's awful appearance. I'm not sure if he was trying to spoof his own films or what but the writing and the editing felt really lazy, hopefully he hasn't lost it.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...card-role-tarantino-directs-star-trek-1065667

article said:
"People are always saying to me, 'Will you be Jean-Luc Picard again?' And I cannot think that would be possible, but there are ways in which something like that might come about," the iconic actor told The Hollywood Reporter, speaking from the sidelines of the Dubai International Film Festival, where he received an honorary award.

"But one of my dreams is to work with Tarantino. I admire his work so much, and to be in a Tarantino film would give me so much satisfaction. So, if he is going to direct something to do with Star Trek and there was the possibility of dear old Jean-Luc showing up again and doing that for Mr Tarantino, I would embrace it."

Stewart said one thing was sure about a Tarantino-directed Star Trek installment: it would be gripping.

Ok, I just fanboy-bounced a little.

They should have Zack Snyder start the direction, then have Joss Whedon finish it.
Too soon?

Most fans of Tarantino hate "The Hateful Eight," but it's my favorite QT film by a mile. I absolutely loved it.

Has to have time travel. How else will he get Red Apple cigarettes into it?

Muthafreakin Tribble on a muthafreakin space ship, a trunk view, Klingon feet and a 3 minute eye staring contest. Maybe a restyled bat'leth or two.

Really? I liked it, as well as the others. My only comment after watching it was how it was quite a different vibe than the others.

QT ST? I am very curious, and borderline anxious to see what comes from it.

H8: Overall I enjoyed it, though I'm surprised with just how irritating I found the water-pistol-style blood to be (later in the film IIRC); if I was rating the film out of 10, that bit alone would knock off two or three points. It was amusing in that scene in KB1 because it was a reference to tacky kung-fu movies, but in H8 it just looked tacky.

Considering for example some 'trekkies' actually like JJ's "Trek" movies, I very much doubt you'd get a consensus.

the first of the JJ movies was the best by far. i enjoyed into darkness despite all its flaws. beyond was just dumb and uninteresting.

As both a QT and ST fan I just don't see this going well. The styles are just so different.

I watched it with my mother. It didn't necessarily resonate with her, but I liked the part when Samuel L is telling the general the story about his long walk out in the cold with his boy.

That part is supposed to make people uncomfortable. You're not supposed to like it!

QT was upset when someone leaked an early draft of the screenplay, so he decided he wouldn't make the movie. Then he decided to make it a stage production. Then he came across some awesome 70mm cameras and decided he had to make a film. You can tell it spent much of its development as a stage production.

I was very lucky to see it in 70mm at a proper theater.

I like QT and he can't really make Star Trek any worse at this point. I wish someone would buy the franchise and fire everyone who has touched it in the past 10 years...

Out of a cannon...

Into the sun.

Hopefully no antique museum piece guitars will be harmed in the making of this movie.
