Well, he didn't say "it's funny if you're gay, but a straight guy probably wouldn't like it", or "It has sex scenes every five minutes". But, oh well.

Yeah, the layout of the show requires a complex understanding of the gay mind. :p

What percentage of the population is gay, about 2%? 50% are women (and women do 80% of purchasing), so Lifetime is surely profitable. Queer as Folk has to be funny to non-gays or it'd be financially unfeasible.

Somewhere around 10%. Then figure women love it because they're idiots, and guys watch it to seem cool to the idiot women.

Is there a newsletter or brochure that would cover it?

Edit: Preferably without pictures. :D

Well maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Who the fvck cares? It is a fact that the show does exist on television, so let the producers and network guys worry about their market. I still don't think I will watch it though, but I don't think the Man Show is funny either.

Um... imagine a hedonist, pure and simple. But he pursues other men who are just like him. That makes sex VERY accessible. Throw in extreme superficiality.... non-healing childhood emotional scars... and a bunch of materialism.

It's more prevalent in women, due to them naturally being more intimate with each other. There are more lesbians in the world than gay men... They just don't get in all the trouble, and make all the noise.

People act the way they do for a reason. It's because something happened to them at some point. It's not a bad way to live though.

Can you help me confrim my gaydar suspicion? I have a good friend who I suspect as being gay. I don't care one way or the other, but he's never come out, and I respect his privacy too much to ask. But it's driving me crazy - I have to know.

He's a good looking 30-year-old guy, works out daily, and in the 4 years I've known him has never had a girlfriend or had a girl date. He has many guy friends, and has been talking about one in particular for months now. This particular guy, he mentioned is good friends with the mayor of Tempe, AZ, who has come out as being gay. (Why would he tell me that?) I also saw his wallpaper on his computer, and it's a pic of that guy. While in Amsterdam last month for work, this friend flew over, and they took a week off to visit Paris and London (not to mention Amsterdam, which is the "gay capital of the world").

So, is he gay, or am I crazy. And like I said, I don't care one way or the other. He's just a real good friend (flew from AZ to PA for my wedding), and it's weird not knowing such a huge thing about a good friend.

Contrary to popular belief, we're not an overall happy people though. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be awake. And living with my freakin' cat. And not having been in a meaningful relationship in ..... right, ATOT therapy. Suuuuuure.

He has a picture of a guy on his desktop and he talks about this guy being gay? Uh, yeah.

I would say he's probably gay. But that's not an important factor in YOUR relationship with him, so there's really no need to talk about it. Unless you want him to "plow you on a washing machine."
