Another wrinkle in this is that it will require an always on connection to stream the live action episodes/cut scenes in it

I'm fine with that. This isn't a game that you'd want to play on-the-road.

The main reason is because this game was going to have a TV show tie-in. They canned the show and will be providing some episodes in the game. From what I've heard, they will play a full length 22min episode after each chapter. I'm fine with them not putting a bunch of 22min shows on my drive.

On the other side, it may have to do with weird contractual agreements too. Maybe they can stream the shows, but not provide them for download. Who knows.

True I am ok with it too, but just thought it would be nice to point out.

I can understand why they wont be with the game but one thing that would be nice is the option to download them separately, although there is about 40 different scenes based on your decisions

That's good news.

I hope my PC can handle it.

They said it was for storage size and also because some choices let you see different videos. Even with that, I'd rather have a download option. Although, at least I'm not on a metered connection anymore.

I think I need to sell my Xbone, I'm never going to get any use out of it since everything is coming to PC anyway.

Thinking the same thing here. Used it for Destiny intensely for a month and since it served as a great dust catcher - one of the best.

AMD's latest driver has a benchmark in it, they mention in 16.4.1 it achieves 22 fps at 4K. A huge jump from 16 fps in older drivers. -_-

Looks like a very demanding game! (or poorly optimized for AMD)

this game looks really interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if it's extremely demanding, it's kind of rendered at 720P on the XB1, and it was made as an exclusive (so great optimization),

from the videos I've watched the game is far more interesting than Alan Wake.

I wouldn't treat this as an outright confirmation, but it appears that Quantum Break will not only be a Windows 10 exclusive, it will be a Windows Store exclusive as well :\

This is admittedly disappointing, but I expected it and I see why MS is doing it. This will give PC gamers an incentive to buy directly from MS, so they can keep all of the profit rather than sharing it with Valve and other companies. And since Quantum Break was originally intended to be an Xbox One exclusive, all the profits made from the PC is merely icing on the cake.

I wouldn't necessarily mind, but it seems that Windows Store comes with some heavy restrictions as to how it supports games.. For example, there is no SLI/Crossfire support, and you can't even run FRAPS or any other overlays.

It's possible that this issue might be fixed by the time Quantum Break comes out in April, but I'm not holding my breath.

This is how they can call it an Xbox exclusive. Xbox now ties into windows and uses your Xbox Live account between the Xbox One and Windows 10 for cross play and cross game saves. If it was on Steam it wouldn't be considered an Xbox ecosystem esclusive.

Completely agree. Super-Soldier enhancement / augmentation stuff like Slo-mo works best when used sporadically on a timer / limited energy like in FEAR or Deus Ex. When literally every single enemy involves spamming "Press X to win!" QTE's interspersed with magic auto-aim targeting (and even more magical harmless enemy bullets), um, where's the challenge?

Aside from there's no aiming effort involved in this vid at all, all enemy bullets seem to go straight through him like a cheap God Mode cheat. Play back 2:58 to 3:02 at 0.25x speed and watch at least 16 enemy bullets literally pass through his chest in two bursts (plus another 10 rounds from 3:08 to 3:09 as he charges harmlessly head-long into machine gun fire for another "Press B to win" QTE kill). 😵 Is this cr*p really what "the future" of console centric FPS's are about?

When you get further in the enemies manipulate time against you and warp through your time bubble and smack you in the face. The gameplay you're talking about is weaker enemies near the beginning.

Played the first scene this morning and it was pretty good. Doesn't hurt that I like the actors in the story either.

Pretty mediocre reviews so far, at least what's on metacritic. IGN & Gamespot both gave it pretty weak scores.
