The Quantum Break website explains that people who pre-order the digital version of Quantum Break for Xbox One will get a free copy of the Windows 10 edition. This offer expires April 4. The game supports saves across Xbox One and PC, but there is no cross-platform play.

April 5th same day as Xbox One version.

EDIT: They updated the specs.

It is actually coming to PC and a simultaneous release at that.
Developed by Remedy (Alan Wake) who have prior PC experience and showed to care about PC, devs talked about nagging MS to allow the port. Microsoft owns their IP's but they drove Microsoft to allow the PC port which eventually happened though Microsoft wasn't the actual publisher.
The requirements are steep but apparently it's a dx12 title. It looks like more former exclusives are coming:

Quantum Break's PC edition is the latest in Microsoft's wider push to expand its games across console and PC. Games currently in development for both platforms includes Gears of War 4, ReCore, Scalebound, and Fable Legends.

I just googled Quantum Break, because like the rest of you, I had never heard of it. It is a third person shooter, where the main character can manipulate time. Seems like Max Payne with extra abilities beyond bullet time.

I think I need to sell my Xbone, I'm never going to get any use out of it since everything is coming to PC anyway.

So many tears are shed today, I didn't expect people to be so attached to what they assumed few years in advance would be xbox exclusive games, raging as if the games are only coming to PC, as if they aren't even launching on xbox at all.

This pathetic whiny bunch doesn't deserve games, a 2x4 should be their sole source of entertainment forever. Probably the same people that signed that "don't port GTA V to PC" petition.

I'm not buying "MS is good guy" PR because of one port but I'll keep an open mind. And yes, requirements are steep but I'll wait for more details.

Wait... is there really an AMD equivalent to an i7-4790? :p

All joking aside, I don't think that the Windows 10 requirement necessarily means that it's going on the Windows Store only. Note that they list the DirectX version as DirectX 12, which is only supported on Windows 10. Although, with all those restrictions and pretty high requirements, I wouldn't be surprised if this game just doesn't sell all that well on PC. The specs are essentially the equivalent to the specs for Oculus, and didn't someone say that only 3% of the PCs can even support Oculus?

Now, I'm going to rant a bit about the Windows Store for a minute. Honestly, I hope Microsoft doesn't pull a boneheaded, EA move and restrict the game to their store. My biggest complaint about the Windows Store is that I find it's just too restrictive. I won one of those Tomb Raider copies from the Anandtech giveaway, and I was a bit perturbed when I went to install it. From what I can tell, everything that you download from the store is saved to a single location, which is changed in the Windows settings. If you want to install things in different locations, you have to change the setting, install the item, and change it to whatever else prior to installing the next item.

Now, some people might be thinking, "Well, I could just go and create a symlink, and use that to put it wherever I want." Oh, sweet, naive child... if only you knew! Actually, Windows locks down the install location, so you can't even access the folder. The owner is listed as System, and any attempts to access and/or modify are met with a permissions error. That sort of vain attempt to curb piracy seems like Microsoft still just doesn't "get it". I can maybe see using this for universal apps, but games? Part of the allure of PC gaming is things like mods, and unless you can load mods from separate locations, the Windows Store completely locks you out of it!

Looks mediocre, not groundbreaking. All the DX12 stuff seems to be on the eye candy side.

It looks good though, i'm sure it will be one of the best xbone titles to come out.

Completely agree. Super-Soldier enhancement / augmentation stuff like Slo-mo works best when used sporadically on a timer / limited energy like in FEAR or Deus Ex. When literally every single enemy involves spamming "Press X to win!" QTE's interspersed with magic auto-aim targeting (and even more magical harmless enemy bullets), um, where's the challenge?

Aside from there's no aiming effort involved in this vid at all, all enemy bullets seem to go straight through him like a cheap God Mode cheat. Play back 2:58 to 3:02 at 0.25x speed and watch at least 16 enemy bullets literally pass through his chest in two bursts (plus another 10 rounds from 3:08 to 3:09 as he charges harmlessly head-long into machine gun fire for another "Press B to win" QTE kill). o_O Is this cr*p really what "the future" of console centric FPS's are about?

I wouldn't treat this as an outright confirmation, but it appears that Quantum Break will not only be a Windows 10 exclusive, it will be a Windows Store exclusive as well :\

This is admittedly disappointing, but I expected it and I see why MS is doing it. This will give PC gamers an incentive to buy directly from MS, so they can keep all of the profit rather than sharing it with Valve and other companies. And since Quantum Break was originally intended to be an Xbox One exclusive, all the profits made from the PC is merely icing on the cake.

I wouldn't necessarily mind, but it seems that Windows Store comes with some heavy restrictions as to how it supports games.. For example, there is no SLI/Crossfire support, and you can't even run FRAPS or any other overlays.

It's possible that this issue might be fixed by the time Quantum Break comes out in April, but I'm not holding my breath.
