the iGPU segmentation is disgusting here, the lowest end SKU just loses almost half of its frequency. wtf

Diving into Qualcomm's Upcoming Adreno X2 GPU with Eric Demers
Hello you fine Internet folks,chipsandcheese.com
SYCL support was already mentioned in one of their slides, now they have stated a timeline.
Yeah, also after X2 Elite announcement last year there were some talks of it being done H1 2026, now they are specifying Q1.Blender first mentioned this when it presented support for the Vulkan backend and improvements to the performance of Adreno GPUs.

Blender for Windows on Arm — Blender Developers Blog
Past, present and future work to make Blender available for Windows on Arm.code.blender.org
"In the longer term (during 2026), the aim is to offer hardware‑accelerated ray tracing for Cycles on Snapdragon GPUs, making use of SYCL."
i gotta say the amount of laptop design wins for X2 is impressive
That’s what I remember.Didn't the original one have a lot of design wins, but despite that not a lot of sales?
I love when my hand accidentally melts on a random webpageQualcomm 8 Elite Gen 6 could reach 5GHz minimum and a max of 6GHz in testing
it's not really savings in anything. N2 is just fast.Such savings in silicon will not lead to anything good.
No, that's RVP fun times stuff. We talking 6 GHz on a mobile chip? That's crazy.
Yeah. Not for everyone, though. If that pans out N2 really has some zoom zoom.
Aren't they on a 2 year cycle? X1 in 2024, X2 in 2026, so X3 would be in 2028?The X2 Elite Extreme tops out at 5.0 GHz. Seems reasonable that the limit he’s talking about with 5.5–6.0 GHz is for the X3 Elite Extreme.
The 5.0 GHz will be for the 8 Elite Gen 6.
yeah.Aren't they on a 2 year cycle?
