I should count the number of times I wrote this: if you want to look at something that scales well in GB, look at the Ray Tracer score. You'll notice that Oryon is about 19% faster than M3.

Doesn’t matter how far they *can* push it. What matters is the shape of the curve. It’s also Windows and they’ll have multiple SKUs. That 13-14W or so is at the absolute peak of their ST (aka 4.3GHz) almost certainly.

It’s a pretty steep slope overall. Looks good.

10W single-core power at highest part of the DVFS curve is not horrendously high for a PC core. At all.

To me these slides just show that QCOM core can scale from low-end of the power curve to the high-end of the curve while outpacing Intel best at any point.

Right. Phoenix cores and X Elite are a very impressive showpiece, specially given that they're beating current gen competition.

But by the time QCOM product has mass availability and is on shelves, AMD will have a much more competitive line-up. Specially with STX. So it's kinda "eh".

Precisely. It’s profoundly weird to think otherwise especially for this case with their SKUs and Windows.

Even M2/3 base model power from the wall (minus display) tops up 8+W these days, if not 10, so they’re fine.

66% faster than 8945HS in PCMARK10. If some sort of benchmark manipulation trickery isn't going on, that's quite impressive.
