So what's in the middle?

I choose rocket guy! What rocket guy do? Rocket guy, shoot rocket! What else he do? He also shoot rocket and sometime gun, but that make single tear roll down rocket guy cheek. Then him shoot rocket and am happy again.

except that bf2 has dolphin diving, unstoppable vehicles, messed up hitboxes, retarded load times, and the slowest menu i've ever used. EVER. a menu that slow shows just how poorly the game was programmed.


i'd gladly play QW over bf2 any day.
 
TF2 does feel a bit shallow. The Tribes series, specifically Tribes2 and some of its better Mods had a really pleasing formula. Shame no one has used it since.
 
Despite what some people seem to say, BF2 is quite a lot of fun when you get into a game. Yes, the hitboxes are a bit screwed up. Vehicles can be a bit overpowered. But any decent spec ops/AT player can take down a tank.

I played both, but i seem to enjoy quake wars more. I like the fast paced action with some complex.
 
Each class in TF2 does different things. You need to pick the right class for the job, and that alone is more complex than a lot of online shooters. If you just stick with one type of job then yeah it's boring.

I would probably get Quake Wars if I didn't already have BF2. Don't want to pay for a clone.
 
Ya, tf2 is a bit shallow, but that makes it more casual and dare I say ?funner?. Tell you the truth though, I still prefer Tribes and its learning curve.
 
My problem with Quake Wars is that it's combat is way too fast paced and Quakey for an objective based tactical shooter. A lot of the strategy is rendered useless by the extremely fast combat.

WHAT? BF2 is the only fps apart from TF2 I can stand to play, karkand is just so great......

I haven't played BF2 since BF2142 came out. I can't get enough of it. QW is fun too. I wouldn't call it "just like BF2"- Steeper learning curve and neat abilities depending on what class you pick.
 
Is this going to be another "BF2 sucks" thread?

I love BF2! Although I haven't touched it in ages... 🙂

QW isn't supposed to be a clone of BF2 which is like running through treacle by comparison. If the combat wasn't that fast in QW, it wouldn't be worthy of the name. It's for the adrenaline twitch junkies like me.
