DOH. I got the linux version in the tin box for 10$ a couple months back ... and thought that was the best deal I could get on it. Oh wel...

To get the linux version to work on windows:

1) Download a point release (1.31) and install to some directory. ex: c:\quake3
2) Pop the linux cd in and copy over pak0.pak file to c:\baseq3
3) Load the game with .exe file and enjoy =)

for step 2), not sure if its pak0.pak or pak1.pak ... but its the only 400+mb .pak file on the cd.

I work in a Dollar Store and a saw a box of these in the stock room last night. It's a box of 10 and I was thinking about buying all of them to sell on ebay.

So the question I don't recall anyone asking is....

Is the LINUX version, when whammy jammied to run with Windows, the same as a pure Windows version, or are there differences?

If so, what are they? thanks......
