Seriously, PSN and XBL remain completely different entities. The "free-ness" of the PSN for those who primarily play online games with their console is still by far the best feature of the two services IMHO. Now that we know the other content remains mostly free, there's little else in this thread to complain about, no?

I think millions of people would disagree with your humble opinion. ;)

I agree with your disagreement.

We'll agree to disagree...

..but one thing that we should be able to agree upon is that Qore is not affecting what we previously enjoyed on the PSN before it arrived. It is simply a seperate, optional purchase for those who don't mind paying for more than what we already get for free. The over reaction of posters when this thread started was just silly. Even if you never bother to sign up for Qore, you still get to play all your games online 100% for free, as well as get demos, videos, access to betas and more at no charge.

XBox Live? Not so much.

If you wanna take shots at XBL, thats fine, but at least we have unified in game friends lists, voice chat with a standard microphone, and the ability to play your own music in every game.

But the monthly cost is nearly as much as that 1.8 oz bag of beef jerky I just ate. :(

Sony is slow on the unified features, true. But what you list is free, irrespective of a Gold XBL account, no?

In any case, I admit Sony is playing catchup (rumored 2.40 firmware this summer fixes a lot of these things). But let me ask you an honest question... if you could play your games online for free, would you sign up for Gold XBL?
