Don't worry so much about your 3.0 VID.
I had one just like yours and it would do 3.8ghz with 1.52V.
Some people also claim that chips with high VID's will run cooler than the ones with lower VID's.
Also, 3ghz is nothing. Most likely you'll be able to reach 3.0ghz with 1.3 or 1.35V
Just go in the bios, and change the CPU voltage to 1.3V and the FSB to 335. Set the RAM to run close to its default speed (whatever setting you have available that amost matches its speed)
If 1.3V doesn't do it, try 1.35 or so.
