damn, is that the home depot?

Joplin&

...at least their pavers are still neatly stacked

yup, that's the home depot. YOu see that wall with the orange stripe? there is nothing on the other side. just more mangled metal.

Here's the best video I've seen that shows how powerful it was.

It gets insane around the 2 minute mark. I swear, if you look closely, you will see cars and such flying by at 200+mph

Is Joplin a suburb of Detroit?

I kid, I kid. Man, it looks like there's really nothing left. It looks like they'll just have to dig a huge hole, push the town into it, and start over.

probably a few years. They aren't letting people just gather all the rubble and ship it off.. it has to be gone through, seperated, etc.

When we were clearing rubble, we were told to make 4 piles. Of course, this all pretty much needs to be done by hand.

Trees/Tree Limbs - chipped
Lumber (wood with nails, etc) - probably burned
Metal - scrapped
Trash/Other Debris - sent to garbage

I happen to like the rusty eyes look of some of the pics.

If I recall a similar twister hit Greensburg? KS a while back. They made a show about that cleanup. It was recognizable as a town within a year or so.
