I watched Push on Sunday...and I don't understand all the hate for this movie. I enjoyed it. I didn't go in with high hopes considering the reviews, but it was a fun movie. My only real complaint was the overarching story was not explained very well at the end. That and the division premise was a little too weird to be totally believable. Otherwise I liked the characters and execution, the movie stayed about them and their powers throughout. Good visuals and I liked the Hong-Kong backdrop.

I thought the "yellers" (aka Bleeders) got really annoying after awhile 😱. Some of the acting could've been better too.

Isn't Wanted in the same vein as well? All these Matrix-esque ripoffs just blend together for me.

Wanted is similar I guess, but until you mentioned it I never noticed them being similar. Either way, it was a completely different premise

Wanted was a pretty bad-ass movie, though. Jumper was good, even though it left a ton of territory totally unexplored. Don't care too much about Push, to be honest.

Oh, and Heroes does suck these days. They've managed to find a way to make every single character unlikeable and impossible to sympathize with.

Didn't like Jumper at all. Thought Push was fairly entertaining though.. They're "similar" premises, but very different movies.

It's closer to Heroes (which is very similar to x-men) than Jumper which was an enjoyable movie. I will watch it when it hits dvd. For some reason I thought Wanted was a terrible movie. I started laughing when A. Jolie walked out in front of the gun and told the main character to "curve the bullet".

Argh. Gf and I watched this the other night, we both thought it was terribad. We *almost* turned it off, but fought through it. How did they talk Djimon Honsou (sp?) into this film?

Thats what I was thinking the ENTIRE TIME.

I watched Push last night. I was entertaining... when there was no dialogue and there were telekinesis fights going on. 😛

Jumper I actually enjoyed.

Phail OP, Phail!

In Push-they Push; In Jumper-they Jump

Totally different and completely not close to being the same!! You can see the difference right in the titles! I mean, come one!!

😉

Djimon is a fine actor, he seemed a bit off in this film, which didn't really give him much to work with. His character (really all of them) had pretty much zero backstory other than cardboard cutout info.

He will be Thulsa Doom though 🙂

Anyone else think they are basically the same movie? (by going by the trailer)

Push
Jumper

Maybe these weren't the best examples but the Push one that is shown on TV makes it look just like Jumper (special abilities, secret organization against them, etc)

Fuck the get out of my head!! I saw both movies while on my vacation in China. I was going to post the same thing here but forgot about it.

The truth is they aren't REALLY similar accept in how much they suck.
