Depends on your work environment. I don't think I'd wear a dark purple shirt like that at a law firm. Probably stick to something more conservative. At my office it's more anything goes.

If you're Professor Badass or Nick Wooster, anything goes though.

I have a few purple dress shirts. One light, one dark, one white with dark purple stripes. As long as you wear sensible pants and ties with them, they look just fine.
