Purest black permanent marker?

I dunno if you guys have noticed, but Sharpie markers leave a purplish reddish silvery sort of sheen. I was wondering what permanent inks out there just mark in the blackest black, without the reddish purple "aura."

It really was written with a sanford marker but it was just an excuse to post the pic.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Dain, that's the kind of work I'll be using it for, but I can't really tell if it has a "sheen" or not by just a pic...the sheen is only visible at certain angles. Kinda like the reflectivity of graphite.

Sharpies usually make dark enough marks for me, so I don't know anything that makes darker colors.

Yeah my stepdad has one at home and although I've never tried it, it looks tough. I'll see if I can pick one up at the local art supply store tomorrow. Students get a discount 🙂

I just tried the black Papermate vs. a blue Sharpie on a clear plastic toploader used for protecting sports cards.

IMHO the Papermate looks less reflective, but I don't have a black Sharpie to test - only red & blue. :/

Thanks. I'll see if they have that at the art store tomorrow. I might as well just buy one of each permanent marker they have and try each one out until I find one I like 😛
