You've gotta admit, this Indian DJ brings some hottness to hip-hop mixing beats to create an "indian" feel while still creating an extremely hot beat that is perfect for hip-hop music. I'm hoping he comes out with some new stuff soon, the following songs are kinda old and I'm waiting for a new hot beat from him to blast.

Mundian to Bach Ke (Jay-Z made a remix, "Beware of the Boys" -- if you grab that, make sure to grab the 2 verse version off his mixtape)

Punjabi Mc feat DAZ- Backstabbers

Two hot songs. Punjabi's got a website.

It's ok..but I personally like the bhangra-hiphop remixes...like the ones done by DJ Jiten. Now thats some good stuff. He has ssweet remix with "Money Ain't a Thang' by Jay-Z and "Silsila Hair Pyar Ka". Very very nice song.

To tell you the truth, I haven't heard him. I'm about to grab it now...if I can find it on Kazaa which is proving to be quite difficult :|

Well DJ Jiten is from Toronto, and he's not big or anything like that. But he has some awesome mixes. His albums are ususally called BMW or something.

punjab (the "pun" is pronounced like the word, not poon) is a state in India. Punjabi is someone who comes form that state. Bhangra is the type of music that originated from Punjab (heavy beat to it).

I gotta plug my friend from Toronto, Sanju Latti. He's a pretty well-known DJ himself...most of his stuff is hindi/punjabi music mixed with house and techno. He was part of a duo called Zak and Sanj, and together they did the Vibes 2 Ecstasy and Arabian Nights series. I haven't talked to him in a long time so I don't know what he's up to these days since he moved to Vancouver...but I do know he's getting married around Christmas and I'm going to India for the wedding (Chandigarh!)...it should be sweet!

EDIT: BTW...Punjabi MC just played a gig in Detroit this weekend (jeezus could u guys take me off your GODDAMN SPAM LIST PLEASE???) and Bally Sagoo is doin a session in Atlanta on June 21st.

cool, thanks. I wish I knew more songs or artists like it. I also like "Noorie (aaja re)" that I found, also by bally sagoo. I like the womans voice and beat in choli ke peeche as well as this one. Mundian to Bach Ke was cool, didn't like the jay-z mix tho, too heavy or loud on the rap side. Basically I like the traditional indian sound as well as the sound of the instrument thats used in cholie ke pechee and is so common in indian music, and the mellower dance mixes and bass beats are a plus.

Right now I'm listening to "Punjabi - Apna Punjab - Bhangr", a mix of some sort. Sounds cool. :)
