Umm...have you ever seen Prabhu Deva dance? Or Hritk Roshan (although he isn't that good..but still good)? Or even Sukhbir??

All of you should see the video for the song "Muqubla Muqubla" from the movie of the same name.

uncJIGGA: I have heard of DJ Sanj's stuff. Personally I'm not a fan of it cause it mixes techno music (which I don't like). The best hindi mixes are done with reggae. Also you guys should hear the mix with 'Like Whoa' song from Black Rob. It's awesome!

sorry, I'm indian myself.. So .. THERE! We can't dance.. We put up our palms in the "raise the roof" fashion and just bounce.. It's terrible.. Ever been to a punjabi weddinG? i have.. everyone thinks that they're hot sh1t but they just do that one move - "arms slightly bent, palms up, now bounce! Now face your pams down and bounce while walking backwards!" That's the indian richard simmons teaching people how to dance.. sorry about the stink thing.. I was just kidding

I haven't talked to him in a long time so I don't know what he's up to these days since he moved to Vancouver...but I do know he's getting married around Christmas and I'm going to India for the wedding (Chandigarh!)...it should be sweet!

EDIT: BTW...Punjabi MC just played a gig in Detroit this weekend (jeezus could u guys take me off your GODDAMN SPAM LIST PLEASE???) and Bally Sagoo is doin a session in Atlanta on June 21st.

He should get his own website if he doesn't already have one.

EDIT: no wait...his new site is www.djsanj.com

LOL...I just read his bio...by the way Lil' Sach is his brother (who's closer to my age) and I had NO IDEA he was in the scene too!

Of course, professional dancers know how to dance.. But take your average indian guy or girl.. It's worse then japanese businessmen at a karaoke bar..

I like his music too...in fact, he was in town last Friday, at the State...supposedly Eminem was supposed to make an appearance.

But I'm curious...I've seen his name spelled "Panjabi", and yeah, I know the regular word is "punjabi"...is "panjabi" right or wrong for him?

That's different..those are elderly uncles just having fun at their children's/relative's wedding. Thats a dance of joy. I went to a wedding recpeption, and watched the father of the groom dance. You could just tell by his facial expression that today was the happiest day of his life. The way he danced (if you could call it that) and his smile just made appear to be being the best and happiest dancer in the world. After all, dancing is about expression.

Anyway, proper bhangra dancing is awesome, same with garbha. I've seen some people go hard-core during garbha and it looks awesome.

Yo, I may be a pr1ck but I don't diss cute old people that dance. .I'm talking not about the adorable 70 year old guy in a turban and his wife hip hopping because their grandkid's getting hitched.. I'm talking about young people.. Indian youngsters (teens to mid twenties) think that they're the fashizzle while they can't even keep up with the beat! Again, stop talking about proper bhangra dancing.. Professionals and people that trained for YEARS (my sister studied indian dance for like 10 years) ALWAYS look good dancing.. I'm talking about your average indian kid.. We lack soul.. No doubt about it.. A friend of once asked "how can you tell a west indian/trinidadian person from an indian person" and my first thought was "they can dance"..

lol. the stinking part is true :D for some anyways.

i think... dancing ability is directly related to amount of color. white people cant dance (lol). azns cant really dance, we do the damn glowstick shizzo or bboying which isnt realy to a beat... brown people are slightly better... but black people usually got dat funk.

I saw Punjabi MC last weekend in Detroit. He's not that good. He barely spoke 2 words the whole night. There was a black guy who did most of the MC'ing. Punjabi MC just played records one after another. I've been to birthday parties with more lively DJ's than this guy.

Interesting. I was always wondering what people meant when they said Punjabi. Didn't learn much of anything about India outside of the horrible way the British treated them, and the Pakistan/India split.

FYI, Punjab was also split three ways following the India/Pakistan partition. Part of Punjab became part of Pakistan, while what was left in India was split into a Sikh state (Punjab) and a Hindu state (Haryana...where my dad's from.)

LOL. I'm Guyanese. I'll always joke with my Indian friends that somehow, when our ancestors were brought to the west, we learned how to handle our alcohol, how to party and how to dance. :)

He actually got paid to dance at clubs at one point in his life. Anyway...just my 2 cents, you got those MP3s MadIndian?
