Yeah, I wish they would just change it from "Big and Tall" to just "Fat". I'm 6'8" and unless I want to wear jeans with a belt and have baggy pants, I'm screwed.

ok, one thing i want to correct you on is petite = short and small - not just small. at least that is the way i see petite clothing made. i am 5'4" and i can wear petite tops, but bottoms are on the short side for me. so i would say that petite sized clothing (at least bottoms) fits women who are 5'2" or shorter.
that said, 5'3" and 200 lbs IS NOT PETITE! it's short and stout.

Sorry, I guess I've been taking out my anger on the folks of ATOT since yesterday.
And I'd like to apologize to Wreckem for the same reason. I wasnt trying to take out my bad day on you, man. I've been sort of snippy with everyone since I left the mall (which happens EVERY time I visit one, so I dont go if possible).
Was wondering how long it would take before Mosh and Lola noticed this. I know darn well those girls dont need to crap on other women just to make themselves feel better.
They have men for that!

I don't crap on other women to make me feel better. I am VERY annoyed with people like you posted about that treat others badly just because they are blind to the fact that they are not happy with themselves or whatever. I see it ALL the time everywhere.
I was shopping in Chicago and saw this happen at a few "younger" stores i was at. The sales girl was offering assistance to a shopper who was fat. (not gonna sugar coat it to say "curvy", etc. because she was heavy. She tried on a pair of pants that would not fit on one if her legs and the sales girl offered her the correct size and the shopper just went off on her... saying that she was not a size 16... she was a size 8... blah blah blah. It got so bad the manager had to come at calm the shopper down. She got her stuff and stormed out. I was overhearing what the workers were talking about... the girl ripped the size 8 pants she was trying on.
anyways, i get annoyed when people are rude to others.

Well I suppose we could, if we were ranting on fat women to begin with, but we werent we were ranting on mean women.
Having said that......
I have noticed that really, really fat women and really, really skinny women both have a tendancy to be obnoxious in stores and many social situations.
Most shrinks say that when you treat other people poorly you're not mad at them, you're actually mad at yourself.
Crap! Thats probably why I was copping an attitude with those guys here. I was mad at myself for not defending the poor girl then and there. So instead I get defensive with people here even though I know it wont help her at all.
Pointless.
If it means anything to anybody, the youg lady didnt exactly look to be on the verge of tears. She had a mildly detached expression indicating she had played this game numerous times before. If she had been crying I suspect I would have done something rash inside that store.

thats bs. if it was about her being rude, why did he need all the comments about her weight? come on, this forum has a hard on for fat people and making fun of them.

It does not mean short.
If you're 5'3" and weigh 200 pounds thats your fault. Not the sales girls'. Please dont harass her for 20 minutes because none of the clothes labeled "petite" will fit your fat ass!

You are not kewl, badd or tuff simply because you can spend 20 minutes degrading a poor woman whose only sin is she doesnt use Ben & Jerry to solve all her problems.
That woman makes minimum wage or slightly above and has to spend all day watching piggies try on clothes when they should be directing them to the tent department.
Furthermore:
Believe it or not, she also sees more than just one customer a day. Some of them are not able to piss away 20 minutes for each and every store they visit. The salesgirl also has a sworn duty to provide prompt and swift service to every customer that walks through the doors. It is not her sworn duty to "check the back" for every little fantastic whim your damaged brain can come up with. If it doesnt fit your fat ass in yellow, it certainly wont fit in green, blue or red.
I agree, never dated a chick that weighs more than 115lbs.
Added to this PSA should be fat b!tches that insist on wearing tight clothes.
Come on.. thats not cool.. no one should see that.

QFT. There's nothing wrong with fashion for "plus sizes" or whatever the hell the popular term is these days - in fact, I encourage it. It keeps the 200lb+ crowd out of the 100lb's clothing.
