PSU and TTU should not be #2 and #3

All they have done is play each other. None of the teams have defense, so it just makes them look good when they put up 100 points a game.

The best out-of-conference game in the entire conference was mizzou beating a dissapointing illinois team by like 10 points.

The big12 is more overrated than the big10. Oklahoma has lost 4 straight bcs games, two of them NC games. All anyone can remember are the two OSU losses though  Morons.

oklahoma beat down a strong TCU team that has a good look at a BCS game. so far the SEC has a win over a team that fired its coach halfway through the season.

What's so special about 2008? I still haven't heard an answer from all you big12 homers as to why they are such a good conference this year. There are no facts to back it up. None. "ZOMG CHASE DANIEL CAN SCORE LIKE 8000 POINTS AGAINST THE WORST DEFENSES IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL". There are two possibilites given the 4 relatively equal skilled teams in the big12. 1) They are all amazing. 2) They all are overrated.

Given the history of the big12, it's alot more obvious it's the latter.

Like I said, look at the big12 BCS bowl records, and they are the worst of the 3 conferences. Oklahoma has won alot of championships? So has ohio state. The SEC is the only conference in football that has something to be proud of in (bcs) bowl wins, and i'm a PSU fan.

The point is, this is NCAA football, things can and do change drastically from year to year. You keep pointing to previous bowl records like they have some sort of impact on this season.

They don't.

Besides, if bowl records are so important to you, why leave UT's recent BCS bowl record out of the argument?

All i'm trying to do is point out the extreme irony when big12 fans knock on the big10.

All people can do is remember the two OSU losses, but noone ever remembers the countless BCS flops by oklahoma, nebraska, and others.

There is only one conference that has earned the right to talk shit, and it is the SEC.

But yet all anyone else can do is knock on the big10 for losing the last two NC games

my bias? I'm a big10 fan, and all i've said is that the SEC is the best conference. I'm just sick of people, especially big12 fans, using the argument that the big10 sucks because OSU has lost two NC games.

TTU will solidify their ranking by beating OSU and OU, if they can. I agree though on PSU...overranked pieces of crap.

I don't buy into any of the "this conference is better than this one" bullshit. Any team in the top 20 could beat another team on a given day, which is why there needs to be a playoff.

Look at USC. They lost to oregon state. Florida lost to ole miss. Does that mean ole miss and oregon state are good teams? Hell no. Look what PSU did to oregon state.

There is just no logic in comparing wins from different conferences and trying to say what teams are better than others. The entire system is filled with bias and bullshit.

their schedules are a damn joke

only "good" team PSU played was Ohio State and we all know Ohio State is nothing but a pretender in college football

TTU has Oklahoma State and Oklahoma coming up which aren't that great anyway... maybe only in their conference. If TTU loses to either of these teams, they better be out of the BCS championship picture for good.

Put any good SEC team (Georgia/Florida/LSU/Alabama) with these schedules and they will go undefeated every year.

Big 12 > SEC in 2008

I'll take Florida and Alabama over any of the top Big 12 schools because of one word... DEFENSE. I have yet to watch a Big 12 'big' game where any team even bothered to try to stop the other from scoring.

Now, top to bottom I think the Big 12 may have the SEC beat this year.

LOL @ the OP/SEC homer.....

Pretty funny he considers OVERRATED Georgia that everyone gave Alabama more credit then we now know they deserved for blowing them out and moving to #1.....

Who did FLA lose to at HOME earlier in the year and WHERE are they ranked right now there SEC fans????

Hows LSU doing this year????

SEC is basically Alabama and Flordia right now and the rest are Average at best.....

SEC sssssssssssssssspeeeeeeeeeeed I guess LOL.........

Can't really say one conference is better than the other because no head to head and no playoff! I really hate the BCS, if the BCS was applied in the NFL - the Giants wouldn't even be in the Super Bowl last year. It would've been the Patriots vs the Cowboys, no true winner.

I do think TTU is a bit overrated at this point. Texas had a brutal schedule coming into TTU, and despite the loss I feel Texas is a better team. I may be wrong, but I think TTU will squeek by OSU and get beat by Oklahoma.

All you can do is win the games you play. How is it fair that a Penn State gets penalized for the suckiness of the rest of the Big Ten? How is it more fair that a "tough conference" team with one loss gets rated higher?

College football is broken and it doesn't matter what any of us say because they won't decide it on the field so it will continue to be speculation and subjective.

If the pros were like this, would the Giants even have been voted into the Super Bowl?

edit - didn't read shlong's post before I posted, I agree with him.

SEC is trash this year. Look at Tennessee. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ok but seriously the SEC overall isn't even that great this year. LSU is meh this year too. Why are you hyping your conference this year so much? Is it because there's no more U$C hate or something?

A bit off topic but why doesn't the big 10 have a championship round? It is because they don't have a even number of teams? I think that would quiet the critics somewhat...

You can't have a championship game until you get 12 teams. That's why the ACC expanded to 12 so that could have a conference championship game.

The Big 10 (little 11) was hoping Notre Dame would join but that never panned out and they've been stuck at 11.

Texas Tech's run is almost over.
They'll soon be the next Missouri.

Texas is 1-dimensional this year.
Texas does not have a ground game this year and Ok. State has a helluva running game.
TTU won't be able to shut down the ground game like they did against Texas.

I still have serious doubts about TTU's defense. I just don't see TTU's front seven matching up with Ok. State's ground game.

I'm not saying its gonna be a blowout, but I think Ok. State wins this one....say 24-17.

I think Tech will get a win vs OSU, but it will be close. TTU's defense has stepped up alot lately, so there is potential.

This gets my vote for dumbest post of the year. The SEC is no where near the caliber of the Big 12 this year. Out of those 4 you listed in the SEC only Florida is probably as good as the top Big 12 teams. LSU and Georgia are decent. I think Ohio State and Penn State could beat LSU and Georgia.

1 game in single digits all year.

Texas A&M scored 25 Nebraska 31
1 dimensional Texas scoring 33?

I won't say that's stepping up to anything.

Kendall Hunter / Dez Bryant / Zac Robinson is gonna expose the hell out of this defense.
