You don't necessarily have to get the screen to show a single color to detect dead pixels, it'll be quite obvious if there are any after you turn the PSP on and looking at a menu screen.

Yeah. No telling when it will come. I've seen as late at July in Japan for the release. I don't believe it has an offical release date yet. I can see that being imported by many people. Seen a release date lately?

from what I understand the Jap ones had a lot more problems, i e square button, and overall fit and finish was "looser" than that of the North American PSP.
