they are defending their right to steal, making a statement...by stealing.

little shitbags.

the only thing that I use PSN for is Netflix streaming. this is beyond annoying for me.

Netflix works without PSN. Coworkers says when he uses Netflix, it asks to login twice but then gives up and move on.

Same here, I hate watching on my laptop so my Trailer Park boys episodes will have to wait.

I believe this has been stated a number of times, Netflix works fine. It will force you to attempt to login to PSN, but after a couple failed attempts, Netflix will load and the login screen for PSN will go away.

It is not difficult to figure out...There was no interruption to Netflix at all, as far as I know in relation to this issue. I (and many others) have been streaming just fine this whole time.

Mine doesn't do this. I didn't get the last few updates before the outage though, so I think it's trying to force me to update before hitting the netflix page.

Can anybody copy pasta this article to the thread? Work has it blocked.

here:

Reports indicate the internal PSN developer network is apparently back online, suggesting that online play, matchmaking and other services may be back very soon.

"The internal PSN developer network is online again," claims NeoGAF user Kagari, who says a number of developers have confirmed these reports. "Things are still a bit shaky at the moment such as lack of new account sign up. Looks like the network, at least the online play/account part of it, will be back soon."

Sony is still keeping pretty quiet about the whole thing, with the last post from Patrick Seybold on the PlayStation Blog saying it would be "at least a few days" -- that was three days ago.

Hopefully we can expect PSN proper to be back online soon, then -- and hopefully 75 million people all changing their passwords at the same time won't crash it again.

I used it in the past, but occasionally it would do an update. I wasn't watching it too often before the outage, so I think I missed a couple of updates (I'm assuming). I just know that trying to bypass the logon screen doesn't work for me, but it appears it does for others.

Also, does anyone know if they will be blanking out our passwords? I don't remember which pw I used for PSN, and I'd like to try a few to see if I can determine what I used. If the pw was leaked, I want to know what it was in case I've used it anywhere else.

I got tired of going through multiple refreshes to get Netflix to work on the PS3 and just use my Xbox 360 instead. :D

I wonder if Gabe Newell is a little pissed that he backed Sony as the platform to play his game on, and people haven't been able to do a lot with Portal 2.

Yeah.... I hope they still consider expanding Steam on the PS3.

I'd also like to get back to the Back To The Future game.

However I have been busy with other stuff. So when it comes back on. Hopefully it's really improved.

I doubt it, there was no other console to do what he wanted to do. MS is way to controlling on Live.

If there is anyone/company that can relate to a hacker attacking your company and screwing things up for you it is him/valve after the HL2 fiasco.

As they should, it was a huge security breach. They said teyre moving all their servers and doing a lot of stuff they were planning on doing in the future to improve security and features of PSN.

At least it was down long enough for my 60gb to finally crap out and YLoD so Sony can extort more money out of me....yay.

I guess that puts my April19th-present Sony tab at $800+, not including the new 3Dtv...*sigh*

Uh... Anonymous didn't hack Gawker, it was another group called Gnosis. Anonymous never claimed responsiblity for it and Gnosis apparently specifically denied any connection with Anonymous.

Well, sorry, but it was reported that way.

http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2010/12/anonymous_hacks.php
At 3:29 p.m. on Saturday, Gawker posted a one-line link to President Obama calling WikiLeaks "deplorable." Minutes later, someone purporting to be from the 4chan-affiliated hacker group Anonymous started tweeting from the Twitter account of Gawker Media's tech site Gizmodo, claiming to have stolen 1.5 million email addresses and passwords from Gawker.com, Gizmodo.com and Lifehacker.com. Three follow-up tweets came minutes after, one reading simply "#wikileaks" and another "SUPPORT WIKILEAKS." The third said, "I remember when Gawker.com told Anon that they were invincible and couldn't be hacked. Well, you were wrong :)" All have since been deleted. Screenshots and an update after the jump.

Gawker issued a challenge to 4chan and got hacked. 4chan hackers are synonymous with Anonymous because that's where they formed. Even the sites reporting Gnosis are showing the Anonymous headless suit image.

I'm picking on your post but not you. The netflix thing has been beaten to death since PSN went down. This for all of the netflix posters.

I wish people would stop posting about netflix working when its obviously that it isn't universally true. Yes, it works for some people with PSN down. No, it doesn't work for some people with PSN down. Chances are it's a related to a particular firmware as well as a particular netflix version.

Please stop acting as if it's something as simple as us not clicking through enough times. If you're particular console allows netflix I'm truly am happy for you. As for myself, one of the many who haven't been able to get netflix to run regardless of the hundred plus times I've clicked through and multiple efforts over the weeks, I feel that the "you're just doing it wrong" or "you're just not clicking through enough" posts aren't helping. If you look back through this thread you'll find tons of posts about this.

At this point I'm pretty sure that those who use netflix regularly know whether their netflix works or not for them. PSN has been down for almost a month.
