It all depends on what kind of job it is. That guy probably would have been better off letting someone install it for him. I knew I was in over my head for my car audio install so I let the shop do it. Took them about a week and a half but to me it was worth it. They ripped apart my car to install dynamat everywhere, custom image system installed in the pillars, etc.

no, the power wire going to it grounded out somewhere. That started off a chain reaction that ended in a fire.
