This was on the CBS news website today. It is shocking and interesting at the same time. It is a photo essay on the effects of amphetamines on aging. Basically what you have are comparisons (before and after) of meth addicts. One photo shows them before addiction and the second after addiction. It is shocking to see how quickly and severely this sh!t affects your body. The link is below.

Pardon me for not feeling badly... I hate all illegal drugs, all drug users, and all drug dealers. Hope they all die, and it looks like this stuff speeds up that process, so they can keep shoveling those pills down their pieholes.

I don't think the meth affects your body directly, rather it makes the person not care about the body. Many of them look the same, just thinner or like they haven't had a bath for a year.

Wow, you're a bright one, aren't you?

These pictures are not intended to gain sympathy for the junky, but to warn anyone who may be tempted to try the drug in the future.

Not to mention the lack of sleep and the dental decay that's attributed to Meth Use.

Look closer. Many look terribly aged.

Whats with all the facial lesions on the last ones? Does meth cause face herpes or something?

Aside from the first few, they mostly look thinner and strung out.

How did they get these pictures? Take healthy people, get a profile shot, and then give them some meth to smoke?

Meth doesnt cause the lesions directly. It causes the users to pick at their faces, which is where the sores come from.

They obviously had mugshots of addicts early in or before their addiction, and later in their addiction.

bs.

edit: bs on the 4 month time period. Mabey she would look like that after 24/7 injection of meth for 4 years.

Write Portland Deputy Bret King and tell him he's a liar.

Why would I do that when I already know he's a "liar", or more so an extender of the truth?

From personal experience and seeing many documentaries on very heavy meth users I cannot believe this persons physical appearance deterioriated that much in 4 months.

You "know" nothing. At least, no more than any of us do.

What would be your response if, in fact, the pictures WERE taken 4 months apart?

I believe it. Looks like they probably caught her after a week or two of no sleep. She already had the wrinkled forehead in the first shot, and probably no makeup in the second. You gotta figure they probably sorted through all the shots like this they had and deliberately picked the most extreme cases.

you line up any substance abusers alcohol through coke and most deteriorate rapidly abusing the stuff.

Thing is most of these 'cases' have hard lives to begin with, poor diets, no medical care, etc.

Good for sensationalism though.
