"Can you tell me one thing...does the carpet match the drapes?"

Didn't think you could say that on network TV 😀

Oh great, I can't wait for people to complain about how they bastardized another British TV show.

The brit version wasn't that great..Carrell is going to add a whole new dimension to the show (hopefully)

this show is completely lacking in some Office Space characters. Not liking these guys at all.

It's OK thus far, but it misses the mark two ways:

One, the actors are acting and it seems like it. Especially, Corell. The actors in the BBC series were brilliant. Two, the show somehow manages to fail to convey the hopelessness and depression that the original was so good at doing.

Fvck the original. Who cares.

95% of the people watching it don't even know that there was an original. Only the nerds on here know 😀

Just finished it. All I have to say is why did they bother to remake it?
They even copied a lot of the same bits, but they were not as funny as the original!
The original was very good, and I do not see this as an improvement.

I thought it was pretty funny. It seems that the boss overdoes it sometimes. The guy that plays this guy from the original is pretty weak. Otherwise, the show is great.

I've never seen the original, I bet I could ask 15 people where I work and 14 would have never seen the original (I actually think my buddy who loves BBC programming has never seen it - and he's a British comedy nut).

So it was pretty funny to me. Especially liked when he "fired" the one woman and the stapler in the jello. "I'm you're number one flan" had me cracking up.

It's not Scrubs funny, but as long as it doesn't conflict with anything else on my Tivo, I'll probably grab a season pass.

Pretty awful and the camerawork made me sick.

For all those who say it was bad, please give an example of what you think is funny.
I live in Cali, so it's not on yet. NSF4 likes it..but he also likes Frasier..which I can't stand..I am a little worried.

Yeah, but the point is, why not just put ads and air the original?

EXACTLY. I've never seen the original and probably neither have 90% of Americans who watch regular broadcast TV on a regular basis.

On its own as a "new" TV show for NBC, I thought that it was pretty damn funny.

The original series was very successful, and I can't imagine the BBC or Ricky Gervais would enter into a deal that allowed an American production company to make any serious money on it. Also, a show containing an entirely English cast won't draw ratings in the US - the show is already highly atypical for an American comedy, and the BBC show would not be able to attract much audience IMO (OTOH, the American show will likely tank as well).

I know I am naive, but what does that mean ?

I thought the episode on Myspace was edgier and funnier. I bet the NBC censors rejected that one. This one basically took snippets from the BBC version.

Hair on your head matching your pubes...meaning, does she dye her hair.

If a women dyes her hair, she most likely isn't going to dye her pubes unless she's a fuggin' pyscho.

about seven minutes in to it (MST). Not bad...not as good as the original, Pam is hotter in the new one...but you should've seen her a few years ago...

Gareth was better than the new one...

no, it clearly wasn't after the first 5 minutes. I wish it were cause what they have going was terrible.
