I think my favorite Dersh argument was that because Trump thinks him getting re-elected is in the public interest extorting foreign powers to help his re-election isn’t corrupt.

They why can’t Trump just have Democratic opponent killed? His lawyers in a different instance said POTUS can’t be investigated for anything while in office. After all “ for the good of the country”

There are 4 democratic Senators running for President, who are participating in the impeachment process. Don't even talk to me about conflicts of interest. This is not a trial in a court. This is not a normal trial and expectations that it should follow same procedures and rules would be wrong. I hear a lot of people talking that do not understand this, out there where I live.
So, you believe that a senate who personally participated at some level in the actions that is directly tied to one of the articles the President is being impeached on, are on the same level as those running for President which has no ties what so ever to the impeachment articles should also be recursed? Please explain how their vote would change the outcome of the race for the democrat nomination.

Apparently you're incapable of having discussion without hurling insults.

When you provide a reasonable argument that defends your and the GOP's comment that an alleged co-conspirator in the very same charged crime/article of impeachment should be allowed to sit on the jury and decide the fate of the accused, then I'll consider you a participant in the discussion.

But first, defend your support of this argument.

It's the question from Rand Paul that Roberts would not read, because he wanted to expose the whistleblower.
Ahhh yes. The one that has the right calling him a traitor.

Amazing that a sitting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States won't unilaterally vacate the Whistleblower's Protection Act which was unanimously passed by the Senate because Rand Paul wants to be a dick.

Schiff is destroying the house councils argument that the subordinate the house issued before the impeachment resolution were invalid.
Do you mean the white house council, and not the House council? Because Schiff is part of the House council aka House Manager team.

I just want to break it down for the dense who might still be confused.

Trump wanted to find something to use against Biden. He leveraged military aid and WH meeting to lean on Ukraine to get something on Hunter Biden. This is the quid pro quo that is being denied. It is real. The reason you know is that if it was a legit investigation, it would have been carried out by the DOJ/FBI, not the president's private lawyer and his goon troupe. Also, the hold on aid was lifted only when this plot became public knowledge, and not for any other reason stated for why the hold was implemented in the first place.

We don't need witnesses, documents, or anything additional. Everyone trying to deny reality has an agenda that is against the interests of the United States.

This is not complicated. It is being purposefully made muddled by those also working against the interests of the United States.

OMG Schiff just now: "While the Defense is in here arguing that the House should've taken subpoenas to court, the DOJ just now argued in court that the House cannot enforce subpoenas and the only remedy is impeachment! Impeachment! You can't make this stuff up!"

What wonderful timing. Even got a rise out of the Senators.

Seriously, this is like item A in the 'you cannot make this shit up' department.

Next defense argument 'welp i guess we gotta take this up to the supreme court to decide it! Better not impeach yet!'

How do you do this if the Executive branch simply refuses to cooperate? What happens when, not if, they send the Sargent-at-Arms and the Whitehouse, DOJ, etc. simply refuses to acknowledge his authority and bar him access to the witness or documents being subpoenaed? That was the reason the House didn't try that tactic, it was almost certainly going to make matters worse, because once he is denied they have basically two choices, authorize him to use violence, and very likely start a civil war, or go to court. Might as well skip the step and just go to the courts.

If we choose not to defend our liberty out of fear that we will be unsuccessful, then has our liberty even existed in the first place? Do you reconcile in favor of maintaining the fantasy of liberty? Or do you choose to defend it risking finding out it was only ever fantasy anyway? I know what Thomas Payne would say.

If when someone disagrees with what liberty is you kill them, then does anyone really have liberty? We must be able to solve these issues peacefully, or we are just calling might-makes-right liberty.

the chuds dont care. When you have a minority of the people with the majority of the voting power we end up with horrible shit like this.

That is the only way the Repubs will be able to hold on to power now and more so in the future.

Those numerous vile voter suppression tactics they've been using speaks directly to this.

It's a simple statement of fact that the Repubs are fighting an uphill battle that's getting steeper and steeper as time goes by in regard to their attempts at suppressing the ever burgeoning liberal/progressive voter bloc.

Artful use of lying is all Trump's defenders have ever had to defend him with. The Dems nailed him good and proper in the House with solid numerously corroborated facts that clearly proved his guilt while the Repubs in the Senate have been, heh, trying to disprove it all by the forceful use of deceptively laced jargon and plain flat out lying.
