I am not able to watch/listen with much regularity right now, but based on the current line of questioning I certainly hope someone hammers out that the reasons these top advisors did not raise more concerns earlier is that they were specifically excluded from Trump's pursuit of public announcement of investigations. That seems partly consequence of Trump actively shunning the usual degree of briefing from advisors in general leading to an organizational structure which excludes a lot of information. Mainly, though, Pompeo and Bolton were aware at least in part, thus there were absolute choices for major arms of foreign affairs to exclude the individual actors most important in advising here.
