Looks like a flaming bag of poo. Will Smith's kid was wretched in the Day the Earth Stood Still remake and it looks like he will be about the same here.

Any time there's a remake and a black person is cast in a role that was originally played by a white person there's this sort of antipathy. Not that this movie isn't worthy of legitimate derision for other reasons. But reading a politically correct agenda into this based on the trailer is just paranoid.

Ralph Macchio is "white"??

i'm just confused Why are we talking about rappers in movie roles? when did jayden smith ever rap?

and why are people getting so worked up about a kids movie.. didn't see this sort of discussion about.. Cody Banks or Spy Kids..

He's black and has cornrolls, so he = a rapper who's a wanna be gangsta. I don't remember the posters name but he was upset it was a black person, and than went into a "fuck rappers who act" If you put 2+2 together he's clearly racist. Even if the trailer was horrible, had it been one of the dipshits from Zack & Cody's secret life. I guarantee he wouldn't have said "I can't believe a fucking white person's in the remake!"

Geeez, so now we have to put black kid in remade movie? - what he said exactly, there was no reason to mention a black person unless he's racist. And then to compare him to Bow Wow? The only similarities are they're both black, nothing beyond that. That's about as stupid as me saying I hope Al Pachino doesn't suck in his new movie because Paulie Shore's a horrible actor.

Ignorant Americans, they call it The Karate Kid and he is taught kung-fu in CHINA. That's like making American History X and having the whole movie set in Mexico about Mexican druglords.

What about Karate Kid IV?
Goddamn, that movie was awesome!
Awesomely dumb!

Someone needs to do a remake of Double Impact!

Double the action!
Double the drama!
Double the suspense!
Double the Van Dammage!

I agree with the poster above that says 'too young'. The original KK was in high school, no? That lends a bit more credibility towards actual tension and beatdowns rather than 10 year olds in 3rd grade or whatever. I don't care that he's black, but the age is all wrong for this story.

Should have been the other way around. should have been an Asian kid (drug lord from Tropic Thunder comes to mind) and Chris Tucker, with the setting in Harlem.
