Too young. And the part in the trailer where Jackie Chan is defending the "kid" by beating up a group of 9 year olds just didn't seem right.

the original was corny, the only reason I liked it as much as I did was because I was 10 when it came out. It's hysterical how people are getting their panties in a bunch over this being remade. As if the original was one of the greatest movies of all time and touching it's sacrilege. Pat Morita had the only good character in the original. And I don't think Jackie will be nearly as good.

Ok, so how exactly would you deal with a gang of 9 year old Kung Fu master kids who were coming after you, huh huh huh?

Wow haha that actually looks pretty good for a Karate Kid "remake." I can't help but think The Boondocks when I see that kid though...

It didn't look like he was beating anyone up. I only saw him using evasive maneuvers although it does pose the question of how many 9 year olds Jackie Chan can beat up before passing out.

Geeez, so now we have to put black kid in remade movie? Hopefully, this boy (son of Will Smith) won't stink the movie so bad like li' BowWow did with Fast and Furious -Tokyo Drift or Be Like Mike.

Somehow it seems to me that there being any "karate" in the movie is a stretch of the imagination.

I was wondering how long it would take until someone complained about black people. Now it's just a matter of time until someone blames it on Obama.

Karate, Kung-Fu, it's all the same. Just like asians. They all look the same. No difference. Everyone knows this.

Jaden Smith will marry an Obama daughter and they're going to make a kid who is going to make an even shittier movie than this co-starring an elderly Jet Li.

Did you see the part that I said hopefully this boy won't stink the movie as bad as li' BowWow did? Obviously, you didn't. Selective comprehension FTL.

Don't forget about movie producers/directors put rappers aka wannabe Gangsters in useless roles such as the latest Terminator, Street Kings, and so on.

lmao. I think it looks kinda interesting but that's gotta be one of the most inaccurate movie titles ever.

edit: looks like it might be renamed from what i see on the web

And what was the ONLY reason you decided to compare the two? Because they're black.

Neither of these are remakes. And Jaden Smith isn't a rapper.

How about the ability/knowlege of how to act or play the character in a movie? I wasn't impress with this boy when I watched "Pursuit of Happyness"...Next question!!!!!

See my edit about producers/directors put rappers in movies above.

I can see no problem with any of your statements so far. In fact, as I recall, when he was cast in The Day The Earth Stood Still, it was only because of a board meeting at the movie studio wherein they decided to try to market that movie to wannabe gangsters. They really did a great job casting that movie towards various marketing demographics. They got the chick in the movie to appeal to women, Keanu was for the potheads, Cleese for the Brits, Hamm for the folks who were around in the 60's, and the black kid was for wannabe gangsters. I wonder whom they would have cast if they were only looking for people who had the ability / knowledge to play the character?

Exactly!!!

If I had problems with black actors/actresses, I would blast this boy's dad or mom but both of them were decent (Indepence Day and The Matrix 3). Or Taylor Perry and his Madea movies.

Like you said, I do have problems with producers/directors put black actors/rappers/etc. just to market their movies to certain demographic instead of pick and chose the "best" ones for that certain roles or the ability to act in a movie.

Be Like Mike was a kiddie movie, and as far as kiddie movies go Bow Wow did a good job in it. If you watched it with the expectations to see a movie with superb acting and a great story something's wrong with you. My guess is you're an ADULT and you shouldn't like a movie like Be Like Mike.

2nd it's not a remake, and 3rd are you seriously trying to say that Will Smith's son is a wanna be gangsta (read your other messages) They didn't "have to" put a black kid in this movie, they could have put a white actor, which I'm sure would have made you much more happy right? DAMN THOSE SHITTY BLACK ACTORS!!!
